Timmy makes his way to Mr. Heeps chem lab after school.  There are a few other students there and they find some seats.  A little while later Mr. Heep comes into the room.  He's slightly out of breath and his tie is badly done up.  "Sorry I'm late guys, the principal asked me about the hole in the storage closet up stairs."  He pulls his tie off, "Man, you start one little fire and they label you a menace."  There is some laughter from the other students.

"The Drama Club wants a huge volcano, for ahhhh, whatever.  Sacraficing a script or something, anyway I said we'd help because I'm trying to get the drama teacher to go out with me, and so to do that she has to talk to me first, so!"

There is a brainstorming session and Mr. Heep draws some simple diagrams on the board, then assigns various taks to students.

You are partnered with Kirby Keger and the two of you are assigned to finding the right mixture of the common volcano chemicals to make the effect work without blowing up any of the drama studetns.

HEEP: "Listen, Tim, I know you could probably handle this yourself, but if the principal found out I let a freshman do this by himself he'd hit the roof.  Kirby's not a chemestry guy."  He puts a hand on Kirby's shoulder, "But he can help you out and keep the principal off out backs."

With that Mr. Heep starts to make the rounds of the various groups leaving you and Kirby to work.

"So, you're good with this chemestry stuff?"  Kirby asks, "I got a D in the class last year."

Timmy grins and smiles at Mr Heep. "Yep, thanks Mr Heep." He then turns to Kirby. "Yeah, I like chemistry, it's my favourite subject, my Dad works with chemicals so I've learnt a fair bit from him." He pulls out a piece of paper and scribbles a few note on it. "We'll need Baking soda, vinegar, water and soap. But how much, can anything be more effective and is there anything else?"

He looks at Mr Heep then back at Kirby. “Is it true he caused an explosion in the lab?”

OCC: Chemistry check to see what materials he needs and how much. I think I’ve got a few.

Kirby leans over and whispers, "Yeah, there was this huge bang and smoke was everywhere.  they called the fire department and had to close the school for the whole day."

OOC:  You have sufficient skill to make the volcano, you just need to experiment with volumes to get the correct effect.  No roll needed, just some time."

After about an hour of working Mr. Heep calls everyone together and tells them the schedule they have to work with.  there is no rush on this project, so he thanks everyone for the day's efforts and send them home.

Kirby comes over to Tim as he's packing his bag, "Hey, you wanna go hang out at the Tasty Dog.  It's right across the street, the fries are pretty good and most everyone goes there."

Timmy backs away his notes and puts them in his pocket. He smiles at Kirby and nods enthusiastically. "Yeah that would be great. I'm sure my parents won't mind me being a little late. Also I need something greasy to get rid of the smell of that mixture. That's defiantly something we need to work on." He gets up and follows Kirby to the Tasty Dog keeping his happy smile on his face and walking with a bounce in his step.
