Cal, Sarah, and Colin watched as the man made of water grabbed Megan as his hostage when the security men barged in.  They saw as the elevator door opened and he turned, and they saw the security men open fire and hit him with their energy weapons.

It looked as though they boiled him and he exploded, throwing Meagan over the rail and through the glass ceiling of the lab below them.  The sprinklers went off, and then there was an explosion from below them, shaking the floor.

Now, there is smoke in the air and fire alarms going off.  The lights go out, and the walkway and lab below are dimly lit by emergency lighting.

You can hear the sounds of people below you, injured and in pain.  The elevator doors are open, but the elevator is dark.

Colin, Cal, and Sarah are lying on the floor near the elevator and there is no one else on the walkway.  The security men that had come in from the door on the other end of the hall are gone, as is the doctor that the water-man was apparently after.  The last you saw of Megan she went over the rail into the lab below.

Oh man! Megan got dropped over the railing! Cal gets to his feet, and peers over the railing, to see if she was okay

Colin reaches for his glasses and takes a look around.  It takes him a few moments to take it all in, the man made of water, Megan falling over the rail, the explosion. Then he hears the groans and the cries for help of the people below. This fills him with a resolve that suprises him. He jumps on his feet, checks on Sarah and helps her on her feet too, and he runs to the elevator. He pushes all the buttons, trying to make it work, he jumps up and down, he even punches it a couple times, and if it doesn't work, he runs to the rail where Calvin is looking down.

"Great Spirit and God, it sure is high. Do you think we can make it?" he asks the quarterback.

"I dunno, it does look kinda high..." Cal was in conflict in his brain, there was the one side of him that wanted to jump down and save those people, and the other that said 'No Way! It's too dangerous!' But there wasn't much time to decide...... Plus, if he hurt himself, he wouldn't be able to play in the game... Ah, screw it he suddenly thought "What the hell,  Meg's down there and i've gotta see if she's okay" he says, suddenly grasping the rail and vaulting over it...

Colin watches Cal vault over the rail.  The debris below and the smoke make it slightly hard to see much detail.

Cal rolls with the landing and escapes unscathed, he picks himself up, and begins to look for Meg "Hey Meg! It's Cal, are you there?"

You can see Megan over to one side.  She's under some equipment that was knocked over in the blast.

Looking around you can see five or six others in similar situations and a few that look really bad.

The sprinklers have stopped and there doesn't seem to be any fire that you can see, but there i still plenty of smoke and the fire alarms are still ringing.

Do I roll Acrobatics to jump down?

Colin sees Calvin's perfect landing, but gulps all the same. He turns to Sarah.

"Sarah, I have to go too. Those people, Megan, they might need me." he says, trying to convince himself more than Sarah "If anything happens to me, tell my mom I love her and to marry Chris."

He lets himself go, trying to roll as he lands like Cal did.

Go for the ones that look really bad, Meg doesn't look too hurt The rational part of Cal's brain says, and for once Cal listens. He makes his way over to one of the people in a bad situation and attempts to clear the rubble around them

Sarah watches as Megan falls down below.  It was all happening so slowly but it was still moving too fast to do anything about.  This freaky water guy grabs Megan like a rag dolland now she's down in the lab below. Sarah is dropping her notebook and running towards the edge because her first best friend is down there and hurt and it didn't matter if they were different people now or that they hadn't spoken in years or that Megan was some goofy cheerleader.  Meg was in trouble. 

With a quick glance down Sarah vaults over the edge aiming for a clear or semi safe spot to land.

Megan feels almost as if she floated to the ground.  Her landing was nearly perfect, like she'd stepped off of an escalator at the mall.

She can easily make her way to Megan, who is semi-conscious but not terribly responsive.  There is a large amount of equipment and rubble ontop of her, but it doesn't seem to be aplying any serious pressure to her as you can get your hands under it pretty easy.  More then anything it's just in the way of Megan getting up.

Cal moves some of the rubbel off the more seriously injured with suprising ease.  His adrenaline is pumping and he's not really thinking about it as he lifts the bits of cement and broken machinery off of the injured.

Colin lands badly from the jump, but manages not to actually hurt himself.  He is in a sprwal on the floor when he watches Sarah go over the rail like she could fly.  One hand, up and over, then gently to the ground.  She's over by Megan by the time Colin can get up and get his bearings.

Adrenaline still pumping, Cal moves over to some other piles of rubble and begins to attempt to shift them, his head keeps repeating the same phrase over and over Gotta save these people, Gotta Save these people..

Colin stands up, picks up his glasses that always seem to run away on their own, and looks around as he rolls up his sleeves. The smoke all around certainly isn't helping, but he sees Calvin helping the most injured ones... by lifting and throwing away block of cements and machinery scraps like it was nothing.

Man, that guy is strong. Now I have to work my magic, whatever it is.

He rushes at his side to help him, and tries to touch the most injured person.

Cal reaches for a particularly heavy looking piece of equipment and it doesn't budge.  He focuses his effort and tries again, repeating his mantra in his head and he feels like something snaps in the back of his mind and the equipment finally gives way and he tossess it asside.

You can all hear the sounds of banging on the lab door as firefighters begin trying to gain access to the lab from the door on this level.

Cal watches as Colin kneels down and puts his hand on the forehead of the woman he just freed from the rubble.  Cal had realized that she wasn't breathing, and was about to say as much to Colin when her eyes snap open and she gasps in a deep breath, following by some coughing. 

Sarah leans down next to Megan..  "Meg?'  she asks in a small voice.  "Are you okay?  Wake up... come on... we have to get out of here." 
She gently shakes Megan's shoulder hoping not to hurt her any further. 

Yeah! It's working!

As he hears the firefighters, Colin turns towards Cal.

"Calvin? You'd better help them get in. I'll take care of them. Go." he says nodding to the door.

The boy keeps tending the injured ones, laying his hands on each of them until he's sure they'll all survive or until he passes away from exhaustion.

Daddy? Are you watching me? I'm saving people from a fire, just like you.

As Colin moves to the next person he is starteled by a reflection in a fractured pane of glass.  For a second he's sure he saw his father cast in the ghostly smoke he saw in the mirror the other day, and not alone either but standing in a crowd of other people all watching Colin.  It was only for a second, and then the reflection was just smoke.

Cal's face is still in 'rescue mode', deadly serious, reacting to the task given to him "I'm on it" he says. He begin sizing up the lab  door Go for it Cal, go for it his mind says, as Cal charges towards the door at full force

Cal crosses the distance to the door in a sprint and hits it with a broadside.  The steel door buckles in where Cal's shoulder hits it and tears the top hinge from it's anchors.  The side latch pops apart as the door frame bends some under the strain.  As Cal steps back he reaches up and grabs the top of the door, pulling the bottom hinge loose and sending the whole thing clattering to the floor.  Just beyond that he sees the stairwell door coming open.  The firefighters have managed to get it open, obviously fighting past debris in the stairwell.

Cal can see them making their way inside the short hall that leads to the door he just removed.  They're bringing stretchers and first-aid equipment with them, while the men behind them bring in a water line.  Some of the firefighters start checking for hot spots while others attend to the injured, readying them for transport.

Cal has lost his focus for a moment, unsure of what he just did.  He remembers doing it, but he's having a little trouble reconciling it with reality.  He realizes that a fireman has a hold of his shoulders and is asking "Are you okay son?"

Reality comes back to Cal, and hits him in the face like a cold bucket of water "Yes sir, i'm fine, but there are plenty injured in there, I don't think there's fire in there though"

As the firefighters are getting the injured out, Colin and Cal spot Sarah still near Megan.

Cal hurries over to Sarah and Megan "Is she okay? Do ya need help movin this rubble?" Cal says, almost too fast to follow.

Colin turns towards the door as he hears the clang of Calvin impacting into it. Then he  looks back to the wounded. One problem at a time.

As the firefighters get in and start carrying people away, he runs to Sarah and Megan. Cal is helping to get her free. Colin then looks Sarah straight in the eyes. "Let me try", he whispers, and takes Megan's hand from her hands.

Colin feels a warmth from Megan that at first makes him worry that she's got a fever or something worse.  Then he realizes it's not that, he can't identify it, but he knows it's not something he needs to worry about.

Focusing, he tries to make sure she's alright.  There is a noise, a buzzing he can't quite make out, then he feels a snap and the noise is gone and he can see the clarity of fiocus come into Megan's eyes.

Colin let's go of Megan's hand and crawls a little distance away, fighting with a wave of nausea.  It takes a moment, but he manages to keep the urge to hurl in check.

Megan had been in a daze after crashing through the glass above the lab, for some reason her brain focused on the events that had just taken place instead of what was going on right now.  Part of her was wondering if she had been badly hurt by the fall or the glass, another part trying to figure out exactly had happened before the fall, with that weird water guy and the feeling of suffocation she had felt when he had tried to drowned her.  Along with that was a doubly grossed out realization that in doing that he had used part of himself to do that as he was made of water.

A distant voice seems to interrupt her thoughts and she tries to focus on it as other voices are added.  Suddenly, everything seems to come into focus as she sits upright to see a boy holding her hand that she recalls as being part of the fieldtrip and then lets go as he crawls away from her a bit.  Sarah is also right there, a worried look on her face and Calvin standing over as well.  “Sarah?”  The blond teen says as she tries to get an idea of what is going on.  “I’m not cut am I?”  She asks, wondering if she might somehow be numb to the pain at this point.  One hand goes up to feel her face while the other starts to feel her legs and side.

Sarah smiles at Megan, now feeling a little awkward that she's aware and talking.. "Uh,.. no you look okay.  But do you feel okay?  Don't sit up fast or anything because there's a lot of junk on top of you.  We'll have to slide you out.  I didn't want to move you incase your back was hurt."

Cal imaptiently tuts, "Never mind slidin' her out, I can shift this stuff no problem" he says, then gets to work on shifting all the rubble on top of her

Megan didn’t seem to notice Sarah’s feeling of awkwardness as she considered her old friend’s statement about possibly hurting her back and felt a bit of panic.  She didn’t think her back was hurt, but she was afraid it could be so bad that she had numbed to the pain.  Trying to keep herself calm she gave Sarah a smile back.  “I feel okay, for the most part.  I don’t think my back is hurt, it better not be or my dad will so be suing this place.  Actually, he probably will be anyway.”

As Calvin moves over and lifts the debris from on top of her, Megan looks up with a bit of surprise at the seeming lack of effort it took him to do so.  She was also feeling extremely self conscious at the moment, given having fallen down here, been doused in the sprinklers and everything else.  Not exactly the best way to finally met the Freshman start football player face to face for the first time.

"What?!? Are you nuts Calvin?  Don't try to move this junk, you'll kill back and it might slide onto Megan.  Just slide her out gentle so the medics can take a look at her and we can get out of here!"

Sarah, having been oblivious to Calvin's previous marvels of strength is looking at him like maybe he landed on his head on the way down here. 

Sarah realized that Cal moved the debris with so little effort that she hadn't even noticed.

Cal shifts the rubble out of the way and Megan appears to be fine, although she's still soaking wet.

The firefighters make their way over and help her onto a stretcher for transport to the surface.

"We need to get you kids out of there."

The firemen lead the way up the stairs to the lobby and then outside.  Ambulances are taking everyone to the hospital and there are police and reporters there as well.

Once they get everyone to the hospital they examine them.  Cal, Sarah, and Colin are declared fit, but Megan is taken to a room for observation as she may have a concussion.

Everyone is interviewed by the police and their statement is taken.

They call your parents to let them know your condition and to make arrangements for them to come get you.
