Title: Chapter 4, A Couple of Days Off Post by: secretoracle on September 07, 2006, 12:12:56 PM OOC: For the near future weekends will be a soft posting sort of thing until some of the more intense plots are rolling and some of you are digging into things and spending a decent amount of time doing it. In the following entries I will be making some guesses as to what each of you does "normally" so let me know if I'm off base or what I say doesn't make sense to you. They're your characters and you do what you think they would so let me know if I'm wrong. During the weekend Cal and most of the offensive line make it out to the hospital to visit Megan (I'll leave the 48 hours thread open for you to have any conversation that Cal and Megan have.) Sarah makes it out there as well after having made the rounds to Megan's classes for the homework assignments (Unless I read that wrong). She's in Donald's game at Vortex along with Dave, Rob, and Greg. Rob catches flak from Greg and Dave for standing the group up at lunch, until he explains that he had lunch with the girl from his math class. Sarah, or Dave, will ask Donald to join them at lunch. They've sort of formed a gang and take over a large table, and he's the only guy at the game that isn't there. Matt gets an invite over to Rory's house to play some games and watch some movies. Matt meets Rory's sister Shelia who is a Sophmore and Rory's parents who seem pretty nice, and stay out of your hair while you're there. Perhaps at first it was just an excuse not to be home, but it turns out you had a pretty good time. Kel probably avoids the house on weekends as much as possible? To that end he's likely spending time with sylvia or out and about. Sylvia has no strong reason not to be at home, but I get the feeling that Kel can convince her to go out from time to time. Colin is likely riding his bike and snapping photos, but may also spend some time doing research on the Indian Magic thing at the library. Seth's folks are on the social ladder and very likely spend time at parties during the season and travelling for some events. When they don't book him to play for friends or something similar I get the feeling that he's usully out in some small venue playing? With his new abilities maybe he's also spending some time playing with them to see how extensive they are? (new player) Samantha spends time practicing her trombone and hanging out with friends, who I'm guessing are mostly band kids? (new player) Donald runs his game on eithe Friday or Saturday (I can't remember) at Vortex, the local gaming store, and other then that spends time in his room online if I remember correctly. See the entry for Sarah for the invite to the lunch room group. Megan is released from the Hospital Sunday afternoon with a clean bill of health and is able to go back to school Monday (Man, the GM cheated her out of a whole weekend, what a D%@$!) Timmy is a tinkerer and I imagine he spends all his free time....well...tinkering. His folks have probably given him the garage to use as his "lab" and pretty much leave him to himself there. He and Kirby have recently met and are probably becoming friendly, so they may end up spending some time together. Kirby's folks let him use the shed in the backyard after the fire in the basement they made him move his "lab" outside. Did I miss anyone? Do we really have this many players? Man, I'm nuts. Title: Re: Chapter 4, A Couple of Days Off Post by: Doc on September 07, 2006, 01:07:05 PM Colin also had to call the Chicago Tribune to see if they were interested in his photo of the water man. Being the cutie he is, he didn't even think of asking for money, but if they offered any he would enthusiastically take their first offer, even if it was far less than he could get. He also promised to go with Cal to visit Megan, to show her the pictures of the game and the cheerleading squad. Title: Re: Chapter 4, A Couple of Days Off Post by: secretoracle on September 07, 2006, 01:34:18 PM Chris drives Colin into the Tribune office to chat with the editor Saturday morning. He offers Colin $105.00 for the picture and agrees to let you use it in the school paper as well. Sammy will practice a little bit, but she gets plenty of practice during the week so she doesn't do it a lot. She helps her mom to set up for a "Comfy Cook" kitchen tools party. Her sister asks for her opinion about different outfits. Sammy guesses right, and likes the same combinations of clothing that Stephanie does, which puts Stephanie in a very good mood. Stephanie offers to give Sammy a "makeover" -- she does her hair and makeup, that kind of thing. They actually get along pretty well for a few hours. Dad takes Mom out for dinner, and Stephanie goes out with friends, leaving Sammy home alone. She watches a scary movie while cuddled up with the family dog. Quote
Did I miss anyone? Do we really have this many players? Man, I'm nuts. Well, you already knew that! Title: Re: Chapter 4, A Couple of Days Off Post by: Gaea on September 08, 2006, 01:16:35 AM Yes, that sounds about right. He would practice his music and his powers. He would most likely play a venue on saturday night, a decent sized bar or something similar. Most likely making somewhere in the vacinity of 200-400 dollars plus tips, doing covers(Sweet home Alabama, and the like). Maybe a coffee house friday for some of his stuff. Title: Re: Chapter 4, A Couple of Days Off Post by: Doc on September 08, 2006, 02:37:30 AM Colin frames the page of the Tribune with his photo and the article and hangs it on his room's wall, just below his father's picture. He's so proud of it. He gives her mom the money for safekeeping while he figures out what to do with it. On sunday traditionally the Walters have lunch together at Abigail's home, and the Crows are always invited. "Mama" Walters is proud of Colin too, and she makes her special chocolate cookies for him, to Colin's utter delight, but to Josh', Moe's, and their little cousins too, since they get to share the bounty. Colin's mom notices something must have happened between him and Chris, and neither is telling. Oh, but she knows her son well enough to know that if she waits, Colin will come to talk on his own. He's sure asking for some weird books, though. It makes her wonder... |
