Megan and several of the other girls are in the locker room after PE.  Some are showering, some are merely getting dressed.  She spots one of the girls from the marching band that was selling candy bars in the North Cafeteria at lunch (Sammy).

As they're getting ready to go they hear a scream, and a girl runs out of the shower, trying to simultaneouslly cover herself and scury away from something.

Megan watches the girl come running out with interest, something seemed to have spooked her.  “What’s the matter?”  She calls out as she moves over that way.  “I hope it isn’t a rat.”

The girl begins pointing back towards the shower, unable to articulate any words.

The sound of a voice from the shower causes her eyes to open wide in shock, "You can't run from this you bitch."  The voice is followed by a sound like ice being crushed in an icee machine, and the form of a woman emerges from the shower.  She looks to be made of ice, or maybe just covered in it.  "What's wrong, aren't I fun to pick on anymore?"

Sammy's eyes grow wide at the sight of the ice woman.   She backs away slowly, trying to remember what the instructor said in that self defense class at the YMCA.  Right... People don't want to get involved when people yell "help", but "fire" draws attention because people are nosy.  Where's the fire alarm switch?

You spot the fire alarm pull right near the door.

The gym coach comes out yelling, "WHAT IS ALL THE RAQUET ABOUT?"  When she sees the ice girl her tone changes, "What in hell?"

"You're as much to blame!"  The ice girl says, pointing her right arm at the gym coach, and with the motion sending a stream of slush across the distance which turns to solid ice when it hits the coach.  She's coated in a thick coat of ice.  "Who's not giving it a hundred percent now?"   The ice girl says, a common phrase used by the coach.

The fire alarm starts to go off.

“God, what is it, first a water man on Friday, now some ice chick.”  Megan mutters as she watches with a bit of fear as the girl covers the gym coach with a sheet of ice.  She backs a bit away from the ice girl while looking around her for any towel carts or anything similar that might be handy.

Megan spots a ball cart.  It's filled with basketballs, vollyballs and the like.

The girl that ran from the shower is distracted by the fir alamr, and everyone else immediately panics and makes for the doors.

Ice girl screams, "NO YOU DON'T!"  and she launches another ice blast at the girl that ran from the shower.

Sammy stands in front of the switch, hoping her body blocks it from the view of  the ice girl so that Icy won't know who set off the alarm.  She's also hoping the sprinklers slow Icy down some too, or at least give her something else to think about.    Mustering up every bit of lung power given to her from years of horn practice, she yells "Run!  Everybody run!  Get out now!"

Megan moves over towards the ball cart, while the ice girl attacks the other girl she had first been after.  If she reaches it without attracting attention of the ice girl, she pushes it towards the superpowered girl.

Megan moves towards the cart in the confusion, turning it slowly she lines up the shot and gives it a bit of a running push, only you seem to run faster then you remember.

Megan gives the cart a little running push, and ends up crossing the entire distance and slamming into the superpowered girl.  She strikes the girl with such force that she sends her flying off her feet into the wall.  As she strikes the wall fragments of ice fly everywhere and the girl slumps to the floor, naked and unconscious.

Megan looks around to see that the girl she was attacking is still cowering in fear, her arms over her eyes.  No one else seems to be around, until Megan's eyes fall on the girl that obviously pulled the fire alarm.  She is staring in slack jawed awe at Megan.

Megan looks around to see that the girl she was attacking is still cowering in fear, her arms over her eyes.  No one else seems to be around, until Megan's eyes fall on the girl that obviously pulled the fire alarm.  She is staring in slack jawed awe at Megan, floating about six inches off the ground.  A gentle breeze blowing her hair about her head.  The girl sees the look on Megan's face, and looks down.  A second later she falls to the floor.

About this time school security and one of the vice-principals come in, "What's going on in here?"

"How... how did you... and ..."  (then she slumps to the floor)

Megan was very surprised to see the band girl that had pull the fire alarm floating and was about to try to explain away how she might have so quickly run across the room pushing the cart when the girl fell to the floor and then a security guard and a vice-principle arrive.

Oh just great.  Megan though as she looked over at the school authorities.  “Well, it is kinda crazy, but this girl over here came running out of the showers screaming,” she pointed to the cowering girl as she went on, “and then this girl here followed her, but she was like covered in ice or something.”  She points to the unconscious girl that had been covered in ice.  “See, she froze the coach!”  Megan points over towards the coach, suddenly worried about the coach under the ice.

“That girl over there pulled the fire alarm to get help while the other girls took off, and I just couldn’t let this ice girl keep attacking the first girl, not after my experience with that creepy water guy at the lab Friday, so I found this cart and pushed it into the ice girl, knocking her out.  Then the girl that pulled the fire alarm just kinda collapsed.”

The security guard radios the office for the police and the paramedics.

They help the girl that had been attacked, Megan, and Sammy out of the locker room.

A few minutes later the paramedics arrive, along with the police.

They get the girl that started the attack into some cloths and arrest her.

The paramedics chip away some of the ice from the coach, which has already started to melt.  They take the coach to the hospital to check her out.

The police get everyone's statements.

Megan an Sammy end up missing their next class and are told to just wait for the bell and go to the class after that.  They are sitting on a bench in the office with a few minutes to kill before the bell.

Sammy lay quietly on the floor, half listening to the other girl -- Oh, she's that cheerleader, the one that was attacked last week, Stephanie will be interested in that and oh my god I was floating in the air.  I'm hallucinating, the ice girl did something to me and I'm imagining things, she didn't run that fast and I wasn't floating, this isn't real... I want my mom.  I want my mom NOW.

Convinced that the ice girl did something to mess with her mind, Sammy says nothing of Megan's speed or her own floating, saying only that things got really confusing after the alarm went off and she isn't sure exactly what happened because she passed out right after that.


You're the one who got attacked last week, aren't you?  How come they keep following you?

When Megan gave her statement to the police, she covered what she had told the vice-principle in the locker room, with a bit more details.  When it came to her pushing the cart, she mentioned that she was really feeling adrenaline flowing due to her previously being attacked by a super powered individual, and had run with the care faster and harder than she had intended, though not mentioning she had seemed to go really, really fast.  When it came to describing what had happened with the band girl, Megan just stated how she had pulled the fire alarm and she wasn’t sure why she had fainted.

Later, when she was waiting outside of the office once it was all over and the band girl spoke up, she looked over at the other girl.  “I wish I knew, though this ice girl wasn’t after me, it was that other girl that had run out of the shower.  I guess she is, or was a student here and that girl had been involved in teasing her or something.”

Sammy gives Megan a funny look.  "Oh.  Its just weird that you were mixed up with a psycho paranormal last week and then again this week.  She sighs.  "I wish they would have let us go home."

“Yeah, well, at least nothing happened this time that would prevent me from being at the game this Saturday, let alone killing my whole weekend like this last one.”  Megan replies in a relieved voice.  She looked over at the other girl as she mentioned wanting to have been sent home and adds.  “Well maybe you could go to the nurse and tell her you are still feeling faint?”

"I'm not feeling faint, I just have a headache.  I think the ice girl might have done something to mess with my mind.  I thought I saw stuff that couldn't really be happening.  I imagined you ran really really fast, and that I... I guess I was just lightheaded from the excitement or something."

“I wasn’t saying you really did, you could just claim you do.”  Megan replied.

“Probably just from the excitement of that ice girl’s attack.  I know I had adrenaline pumping when I pushed that ball cart into her.  I had intended to just give it a push and let it roll into her, but got carried away and ran it into her.  I ran pretty quick, but I believe it was just the adrenaline.”

"Yeah, that's it.  Adrenaline."  Samantha laughs nervously.   "Um, I just remembered.  You don't know me.  I'm Samantha Jameson."

OOC:  time for me to log off.  I'll be back tomorrow sometime after noon, eastern time.

“Megan Howell.”  Megan replied.

"I know.  Everybody knows who you are since last week."

An awkward silence follows, then Samantha blurts out "Was I flying?  'Cause I thought I was floating in the air.  That's why I passed out. It was all too weird."

The bell rings, signalling it's time to go to your next class.

OOC: Megan has time to give Samantha a short answer to her question.

Megan frowned slightly at Samantha’s suggestion that everyone knew her in the school now.  “They might all know me, but its most likely as ‘that cheerleader that got attacked’ or ‘the girl Cal went to rescue’ or something, doubt to many know my name.”

When she then asked if she had been flying, Megan hesitated for a moment, not sure if she should lie or not.  Then the bell rang, but she knew she couldn’t really dodge out of the answer.  As she stood up to get ready to go to her next class, she replied, “well, after I managed to knock out the ice girl, I looked over towards the fire alarm and thought something odd was going on with you, but then you collapsed.  I don’t know if it was because of the excitement and such with that ice girl or what.”
