Kirby dragged TJ out of the hall between classes and into an empty room.  He seems very distressed.

"My tunneling ray, it's missing!"

"I went to go get it, to take it to the principal and confess about the hole, and it's not there.  I looked all over the store room where I put it, what am I gonna do?"  He's passing and biting his nails nervously.

T.J looks shocked for a minute then composes himself. "Shit. This is bad, very bad it can destroy walls and, for all we know, people." He thinks for a minute and bites his lip. "Okay we have two options, either we can go and tell the headmaster what happened and hope he helps, or we can try and find out who did this ourselves." 

“Are there any cameras in the storeroom?”

"No, no cameras.  We can't tell the principal, I can't prove it, that my invention even exists.  We have to try to find it, or who took it."

"Okay, well I guess we have no choice." T.J looks around nervously. "Okay, lets go to the storeroom. Do you know anyone who might have done this? Any rivals?" He asks.

"Not really.  No one knew I was working on it I don't think."

Kirby leads you to the physics lab store room where he had stashed the ray device.  He shows you the table he put it on and the small tarp he had covered it with.  "It was right here, right here."

"What was Kirby?"  You are both startled by Mr. Heep.  "You loose something?"

T.J jumps round in shock and looks at Kirby for a moment. If they could tell any adult it would be Mr Heep. T.J stares hard at Mr Heep and asks him. "Yeah he did but if we tell you will you swear not tell anyone about it?"

Mr. Heep looks around, then comes into the store room and closes the door.  "This sounds serious.  What are you boys into?"

"I lost an experiment.  I builtatunnelingrayandwhenIcuttheholeinthewallIhidithereandnowit'sgone."  Kirby rattles off the tale in a long breathless string.

"Kirby."   Mr. Heep says, coming closer, "Relax and tell what happened."

Kirby takes a few deep breaths and relates the tale again, slower.

"Well, if someone did take it, I don't think you two should be trying to find it by yourselves.  Is there anyone you can get to help?"

"Well, there's you and," He pauses and looks round the room for inspiration. "Gretchen, Colin, Kel, Sylvia. I’m sure they’d all be willing to help. Seth and Sarah might help to.” He glances at Mr Heep. “I’m sure they’d be willing to help!”

"Well, sounds like you have plenty of help.  Just be careful.  I'll give you what assistance I can."

Kirby gives photocopies of the schematics to everyone so they can identify the tunneling ray when they see it.  He also describes what NOT to do if you find it, so that it doesn't accidentally go off.

"Thanks guys, I appreciate this, really."

Kel stretches a bit and takes the schematic, before giving it a quick perusal and handing it over to Sylvia, he then says, "It's no trouble at all.  This is a lot more fun that just sitting in class."

Sylvia studies the schematic.  "Sure.  The minor peril of hunting for death-ray-wielding ninjas beats the certain doom of my biology lab any day."  She pauses.  "Hey, you've been to Japan, right?  What do you know about ninjas?"

Kel thinks for a moment as they begin walking through the halls and then says, "Uh, they're not very common.  I don't remember ever seeing a ninja.  Well do special forces marines count?  Some of them take long periods of leave and go train for heavy martial arts."  He just shakes his head, "I'm pretty sure ninjas went the same way knights did in europe, just kind of became obsolete.  I'm sure there's still people who go around all stealthy and in all black.  But an actual ninja, I don't think so.  I'm sure it's just some kids who know karate acting all cool by dressing up like the ninja they wish they were."  He then gets into a horribly stereotypical karate stance and exclaims, "Wachow! I mean, it would be pretty cool to be a ninja."

"Ninja vigilantes.  I think I'm going to have to write that up for next week's newspaper.  If I can find the ninjas.  Which would sort of make them, well, not ninjas."

Kel laughs and responds, "This is very true."  He then looks around, "Where do you think people who stole a death ray would hide it?"

"Basement.  Whenever shady bad guys steal something for their nefarious plans, they always hide it in the basement."  She gives Kel a dead-serious look.  "Do you want to be Shaggy or Scooby?"

Kel smiles in return and says, "It depends, if I'm Scooby do I get a Scooby Snack?"

"I can give you a cream-cheese-and-alfalfa sandwich."

Kel's face contorts into a wide range of grossed out images, until he finally seems to have something get caught in his throat.  He coughs for a moment and then says, "That's not a sandwich, that's just wrong."

Colin comes down to the lab's storeroom with T.J. Last time he came this way he met the blackbird, and he looks around hoping to notice it again.

"Hi, Kirby. You are running out of nails. Stop for a moment ad take a deep breath. Now, please show me exactly where you put it and how. I'm not sure, but every detail could be important."

Ok, I'm not sure if it's supposed to work this way, but it probably doesn't hurt to try. With Bruce I got a vision of the Tasty Dog's past. If I could get the same to happen here, we'd know where to look.

Colin tries to think of the blackbird, to see it in his mind, and he tries to touch all the things that could have touched Kirby's contraption. If nothing happens, he'll try something else.

"Kirby, I know it sounds absurd, but... can you give your hand for a moment?"

Sylvia nods mournfully.  She turns to brighter subjects, like the dark, dank boiler room which lies just beyond the door marked STAFF ONLY.  "After you, Scoob."

Taking Kirby's hand Colin is overwhelmed by visions of his testing the ray (The 1st Meanwhile post I think).  He sees it cut through the wall, feels Kirby's panic and watch as he moves the device down here to hide it.  Then the vision fades.

OOC: Make a Search Roll for the room, whoever is looking in the storeroom.

Kel nods, getting fairly business like as he listens in beyond the door, making sure he hears no one, before slowly opening it and entering.

Sarah ponders for a moment before heading off on the search.  If anyone is left to tell her idea to, "I think I might hide equipment like that, with a bunch of other equipment.  Maybe shop class.  I'll check that out... if I can find it."

God and Great Spirit! It worked! Well, not as much as I hoped, but it worked. Maybe I'm starting to get the hang of it.

Colin looks around in the storeroom, hoping to perceive something more.

The basement here is the home of the bioler room and a variety of utility conduits.  The space takes up the majority of the school, but most of it is inaccessible due to tight quarters and narrow spaces.  Most places can be reached, but you often times have to go in through a variety of access  points in the school itself that lead down to various areas.

Sylvia and Kell search the areas they can reach, but before long it's obvious the device isn't hidden down here and couldn't have been taken out of the school this way.

You do find signs that people have been down here.  Empty beer cans and junk food wrappers litter certain hard to reach areas. 

"So much for the horror-movie angle.  Your turn."  Sylvia looks at Kel and waits for his suggestion.

"I'm coming with you."

when they had seperated from the group... "So this is exciting."

As Sarah and Seth step out of the lunch room into the hall Sarah is struck by an odd dream-like mirage of two boys carrying something that could be the tunneling ray down the hall, past the cafeteria.  It lasts only a moment, and then it's gone.

Sarah nods to Seth's comment.  "Well stupid and exciting.  I mean, what do we do if we find it.. and somebody has it pointing at the door we walk in?  I don't think I want to end up looking like Kirby's first experiment.  Maybe we should just....."

She stops and turns her head down the hall, tracking a patch of nothingness. 

"Um... did you just see... something?"

"No, but trust your instincts. Maybe i'm just not very observant."

Seth and Sarah head off down the hall, in the opposite direction of the physics lab.  Sarah seems almost oblivious to everything around her, until you reach the back door that leads to the parking lot.

OOC: Sarah is sure the boys carrie it out the door, but from there she's lost.

"Is there where your hunch ends..? Maybe it's on the other end of this door."  Seth pushes the big double doors open and steps into the blinding sun. Sheilding his eyes, until they adjust, Seth scans the parking lot for ninjas and deathrays.

Seth and arah stand in the light of the sun looking for anything that might show them where Kirby's tunneling ray was taken.

The obvious option is a car, since the parking lot is right here, but Seth sees the gymnasium on the far end of the property, one of the back doors visible from here.  It seems like a possible place to have taken it, assuming the theives didn't take it off campus.

Donnie looks around. "Colin, the Right Hand of Doom, eh? If he sprouts a tail and grows horns. I am sooo out of here."  He smiles at Matt and starts to wander away from the lunchroom in a different direction than the others have taken."So where should we start looking? Maybe the janitor closets or something. So, tell me about the ninja thing. I really am curious."

"It was nothing, probably fellow geeks making a stand or something, or someone playing around..." He tells Donnie and Colin about his encounter with the ninjas, including how their masks looked more like t-shirts than 'proper' ninja masks, whatever that would be. "So," he concludes, "geek vigilantes or Summon Ninja III?"

Sarah shakes her head all fuzzy.  "Well I have this weird feeling they came out here, but did they take it in a car or stay on campus?" 

She points to the Gymnasium.  "Seth?  Do you think they could have gone over there?  I know the only reason to check is because it's a straight line from where I thought I saw...  Would you want to check it out quick before we have to run back to class?  If we don't see anything maybe we can grab a few of the others and drag them out here later."

Kel looks around the dank basement and then shrugs, "I'm not sure, could've gone anywhere.  I don't know, where would you take a death ray no one knew about?"  He looks around, "This place is pretty big but everything's tiny nooks, too small for the death ray.  Maybe in another storage closet on campus?  Somewhere no one would go looking.  Where would Kirby never go?"  He looks over at Sylvia, thinking hard, seeming to debate a few different areas judging by his face.

"Football team locker room," Sylvia blurts.  "Kirby would only go there if he were looking for trouble."

Kel nods, and then hums in thought for a moment, "Then I guess that's where we'd go."  He begins to head back out, listening and waiting before he once more slips out into the hall.

T.J looks around the storage room and has an idea. "Colin, if you get visions by touching things, why not touch the tarp which covered it? Whoever took the ray must of taken it off and you may so who if was and where they went."

"Oh. Heh! Well I'm not sure It'll work, but I guess it doesn't hurt to try."

Colin takes the tarp and concentrates.

Seth just smiles his shit eater grin at her, and simply says "Let's go". He begins to trot and then move into a run towards the gym.

"Hey!  Wait up!"  Sarah takes off after Seth.  No way he's finding a deathray without me. 

The world around Colin looses it's color, turning into a sepia landscape.  Two boys he doesn't recognize are lifting the tunneling ray and carry it from the room, they're talking but he can't make out what they're saying.  They carry it from the room and down the hall, past the lunchroom.

(OOC: I assume you guys follow Colin, who has walked off after nothing as though he were in a trance.)

Colin follows the two boys down the hall all the way to the back of the school.  It's strange watching them as they walk through people that are really there.  The two divergent images, your vision and reality, make it tough to stay focused and not bump into people.  You eventually make it to the back door, and pass through it to the parking lot at the rear of the school.

The bright light of day threatens to wash away the vision completely, but you manage to concentrate and keep it clear enough to continue following it, towards the gymnasium building.

Seth and Sarah make their way over to the back door of the gym, to discover that it's locked.  You guys have been in the gym, you know this end is where the storeage bins are for assorted equipment and such.  The door on the inside is just as likely to be locked.

(OOC: Seth, you can try to open this one with Reflex Save DC 12 using your TK or you could probably brute force it open with your TK.)

Donnie and Matt wander around looking for likely places to store a death ray.

(OOC: I get the feeling Donnie chats when he's nervous, and Matt has developed an ability to ignore chatter for the most part if it's not really interesting to him.)

They make their way upstairs, since they've seen a few of the groups all headed down.  the chances of people having carried it up is slim, but they figure it's better then nothing.

As they make their way down one of the back halls of the school they see two football players bouncing a third student off of the wall.  "Stay away from my girlfriend pip squeak."  the boy doing the pushing says.

"I'm just tutoring her in math."  The smaller kid manages to say through ragged breathing.

"I don't care."  The football player says, adding emphasis to 'care' with a solid slam to the wall.

That's when things get strange.  Donnie and Matt watch as two ninja come in through a nearby window, then there is the sound of a soft explosion and the area around the fight is concealed in smoke.  There are the brief sounds of a struggle and as the smoke clears the boy that was being picked on is gone.  all that remains are the two football players and six ninja.

Just like the ninja Matt say earlier, they're dressed like students, jeans and t-shirts, with what look like t-shirts around their heads as ninja masks.

Half laughing the football player that was speaking earlier says, "What the hell are you guys supposed to be?  It's not Halloween yet."

The ninja are silent.  The football player's face contorts in anger, "when I find that math tuto I'm gonna bust him up, because you guys got in my way.  You hear me?"  He launches himself at one of the ninja, and they go into action.

Matt and Donnie watch as the six ninja operate like a well oiled team.  The football player is joined by his friend, and the fight is short.  In less then a minute, both players are laying on the floor moaning in pain.  One of the ninja ooks back and seeing Matt and Donnie says something the boys don't understand.  The ninja throw something to the floor and a cloud of smoke billows up.  when it clears, they're gone and only the injured football players remain.

Sweat begins to bead Colin's forehead as he struggles to remain in control of the vision. He doesn't dare to talk, or even look at his friends to see if they're following him. He tries to memorize the faces of the two boys, in case he meets them somewhere. When the vision threatens to fade, he clings to the image of the blackbird, asking for its guidance.

He steadily walks towards the gymnasium, fearing that running could break his concentration.

T.J sees Colin suddenly go into a weird trance and smiles. What a fluke, he thinks, but sometimes the greatest ideas come from flukes. He follows Colin and stays behind him so that he doesn't disrupt the vision. Several times someone nearly bumps into Colin and T.J fears that it might stop Colin, but he gets through unscathed.

He continues to follow Colin towards the gymnasium.

Donnie stares dumbfounded. Snapping his mouth shut, he turns back to Matt, clapping him on the shoulder. "Dude, I think I owe you a coke. That was the most wicked, messed up thing I have EVER seen!"
He shakes his head, a big grin on his face. "I think we need to jet. We don't want those dudes seeing us and taking it out on us." He heads back the other way, towards the stairs. "Highschool is gonna be awesome."

"Uh... yea... definetly..." Matt mutters and walks around a bit, looking for where the Ninajs went, then follow behind Donnie in skedaddling out of there...

Seth gets to the door, and realizes this is the perfect time to try out his TK. He concentrates on the lock, but he doesn't have a clear image of how it works. He's twisting a latch when he should be pulling a pin. He just isn't unlocking a thing.

So he tries the handle again with his hand. "Damn it's locked. I'm going to try to force it." 

"1, 2, 3, 4" Seth hurls his body into the door at the same time he pushes with all his mental might.

OOC: The door opens out, not in.  Sorry I didn't make that clear before hand.

Seth tries to force the door, and with the sound of twisting metal it gives way and comes open.

The room beyond is a storage area which is filled with cages, racks, shevles and wooden boxes.  Most of the boxes are just plain plywood held closed with padlocks.  They're numbered (the numbers are painted on) but give no clue to their contents.  Most of them are large enough to hold th tunneling ray.

The other racks and such hold balls, nets, and the other assorted minutia of sports.

"So, any other pshycic tips?" Seth says looking at the array of bosex before him.

"Uh... no?"  Sarah looks around the room.  "We can look at the boxes and see if any look different?  I got nothing sorry."

After Sarah and Seth spend a few minutes looking at boxes to no avail, Colin and TJ arrive at the back door of the gym, which appears to have been opened by someone already.

They can see Sarah and Seth inside looking at some of the boxes.

As Colin reaches the door his vision fades away and the color returns to the world.

Colin sees a blackbird perched on one of the boxes, watching everyone intently.

Seeing that Colin has finished his vision T.J pats him on the back. "Good work. That was really impressive, unless you just fell asleep and started sleep-walking." He smiles and moves towards the boxes and joins the others in their search. "Colin if you feel tired from all those visions then feel free to rest. You've done more then enough."

Donnie and Matt jog down the stairs, both grinning a little madly at the strangeness of it all. Reaching the ground floor, they make sure there are no teachers or hall monitors about, and take off in the direction Sarah went to tell her, Colin, Kel, and TJ of the new Ninja attack.

Colin shakes his head repeatedly, and wipes both his eyes and his glasses, as he returns to normal vision.

"Wow, T.J., it totally worked! I could see them carry it here... Sarah? Seth? Are you here too? How..."

He's about to ask more, but stops abruptly when he notices the blackbird. He gives a quick look at the others, especially Sarah, to see if they see the bird too. He looks its eyes, ready to receive... he doesn't know, a message, a sensation, whatever. If that bird is to be his guide and his teacher, he's ready to learn.

Colin also wonders if maybe the blackbird is pointing to the right box, and, slowly and reverently, he approaches the box the bird is perched upon.

Sarah grins at Colin, "Had a feeling you'd probably get the scent.  Glad you're here because Seth and I are at a dead end.  I don't think we should start popping open all these boxes.  Someone might here and it would be tough to explain.  That at we're going to be out of time soon."

Colin doesn't look at Sarah, because he's still looking the blackbird, but he asks her "Sarah, how did you find this place? And how did you get in? Wasn't it locked?"

Sarah shrugs with a look of perplexion on her face.   "Well, we came here because I saw something.  I think it was sort of like what you mentioned.  Actually I was wondering if you were maybe... broadcasting?  How we got in.. I think you'd better ask Seth that one." 

"Broadcasting?! But... Well... I guess I didn't think of this possibility. But you arrived here before, Sarah. Later we should compare what we saw, if you got here on your own, it means you have talents too! Wouldn't it be great?" Colin says, wishing for her friend's dream to come true.

"Seth, how did you open the door? Was it already that twisted?"

" I don't know. I had a lot of adreniline pumping through me. You know. I'm stronger that I look sometimes. It surprises me. "

Matt takes a look at the scrawny-looking Seth, who hardly seems that much stronger than himself, then takes a look at the door and it's busted hinges and other damage, trying to determine exactly what could have done something like that.

Then he looks back at Seth. "Dude, unless by 'stronger than you look' you mean got at least like, Class 2 super strength - and we're talking lift-a-ton here - I kinda doubt you're being all truthfully..."

"Really? Ok, I'll let it that way. It's just that... It's the second sturdy metal door I see knocked down with bare hands in few days. I guess they don't make them like they used to anymore."

Colin is beginning to wonder if he has any normal friend anymore.

"Huh?" Matt glances over at Colin. "Second? Where was the first?"

Seth felt a twinge of worry in the back of his mind for the breifest of seconds, before his mouth just opened up.

"I don't know. Ever since colin shock me, weird stuff has been happening. I wish you could hear my heart. It's pumping a mile a minute. And people lift cars and stuff all the time. The human body is capable of amzying things."

"Well, at the labs, after the water man incident, when Ca-" he stops just a moment short of giving Calvin away "...Caleb, yes, Caleb, this huge fireman that went to help us, unhinged the door that was keeping us in. You should have seen him, he was about 6'7". Impressive. Really."


"W-what? After I zapped you? What kind of weird stuff?"

Sarah clears her throat in an obvious interruption.  "Um... we're not supposed to be here remember?  Let's finish this conversation at the Tasty after we locate the DeathRay.  It will be easier than explaining to campus security about the door.  Colin... got any bright ideas about Kirby's invention?"  

It looks like someone was pushing from the inside of the door while someone else was pulling on the outside.  The door is still on it's hinges, but they are slightly bent and the strike plate on the frame is bent out of shape pretty good.


It's at this time that a blackbird, perched on one of the crates makes a noise.  It's head is cocked, looking at everyone.  It makes another sound. (Whatever a blackbird sounds like), then flies out the open doors.

((OOC: Everyone saw it, not just Colin.  No one realized it was there before it made noise though.))

"Well that's a good enough sign for me."  Sarah heads over to the crate formerly occupied by the bird.  "Let's crack this one open and then get out of here."

She moves out of the way again and looks around the room. 

"Just a thought... if we find Kirby's invention, what do we do with it?"

The box is fairly simple.  One side serves as the "lid" and is secured by a Masterlock padlock.  The lid opens "down" basically.

"If we find it, we give it back to Kirby so he can go to the principal with it, patent it and become a billionaire, I think."

Colin tries his newly found ability again on the padlock. But he feels like he's asking for too much.

Colin doesn't get anything from the lock.

OOC: Description of the room question-  Is there another door to this storage area and is it locked?

There is another door to this area that leads to another storeroom that is on one end of the gym.  That room leads to the coaches offices and then into the gym proper.

The door is locked, however it's a one way lock, meaning that the lock is on the other side but this side can be opened.

The room you are in is a basic cube filled with racks and shelves and these wooden storage crates.

"Seth, do you think you can open this box too?"

After examining the busted-up door and concluding that Seth's definetly not telling all he knows, Matt decides to file it in the back of his head for now (and on his computer later) and keep a close eye on Seth, and maybe a few of the others as well. GAH! A bird? Where the heck did that come from? This is so awesome...

OOC: Have you ever walked into a dark room and turned the light on, then off and had those ghost images in your eyes?  If not, do it and you'll understand what I mean in this next part.

As everyone looks at the box Matt's vision shifts for a second, like a snapshot.  The afterimage is of something in the box, something that looks like the schematic drawing of the tunneling ray.  It's almost as though Matt could see into the box.

"HUH!?" Matt jumps back suddenly. "Huh, must be getting too little sleep, thought I could see through the box or something, that I saw the sonic death ray thingie inside that box--" he points at the box, "-but I guess i was just, uhm, superimposing or something." He turns to Seth. "So, how about it? Wanna show off that adrenaline induced Class 2 strength or do we need to go looking for a crowbar?"

OOC: Kirby gave everyone a copy, so I assume you saw it at some point.

Sarah heads back towards the entrance and keeps an eye out for trouble.  She tries to stay in the shadows. 

T.J looks at the bird and whistles. "Things just get weirder and weirder. What's next? Pirates riding dinosaurs?" He looks at the box Matt talks about and moves towards it and pulls the lock down at full strength, which isn't much. "Damn, if only some of us had powers which could actually damage things instead of just seeing things with open eyes!" He pouts and mutters to himself.

When TJ jerks on the lock it feels as though his knuckles all pop at once, and then that sensation ripples though his entire body.  He feels a totally overwhelming sense of nausea for just a second and then he collapes to the floor and throws up.

Everyone that makes the check notices that TJ seems to burst like a water balloon for a second into a cloud of tiny little globs, then snap back together before he falls down and pukes.

T.J falls to the floor and pukes. It felt like he had dislocated and popped back every bone in his body! Damn, he thinks, does everything you touch at this school hurt you? He coughs up a little more puke and breathes heavily.

Colin rushes to T.J.'s limp body, and helps him turn on his side. He keeps a hand on his forehead, and with the other he tries to get a kleenex out of his pocket to clean his mouth.

"T.J.? Timmy? Can you hear me?"

Urp.. Oh god... why did that have to happen right after lunch???  "Oh man."  Sarah turns an off color.  Someone getting sick was bad enough but seeming to blow apart for half a second right before... Stop Thinking About It! 

Sarah stays where she is, despite her own curiosity.  Sick wins over science this day.

Matt takes a few steps back at the sight, then closes his eyes and shakes his head. "Man," he say in an amazed tone as he notices that others obviously saw it as well, "what the hell is going on here? Twilight Zone, aliens, or someone doping up the food?"

I think I feel a bit nauseous myself. Sarah, did you slip me something in my coke or something? I mean seriously, this is the wierdest shit I have EVER seen, I don't take drugs, this is weird weird weird. Oh geez." Donnie slumps back against one of the boxes, looking a bit pale. He's trying not to have a panic attack.

Sarah has to just grin at Donnie despite her stomach.  "Fear not Donnie you are merely a victim of the Most Excellent Prismatic Spray.  All will soon be normal once more."  ...and I'm a dork who just spouted fantasy nonsense... well at least its classic fantasy nonsense *sigh*

"This... This is out of control. We should all get together and talk about this, there are too many of us.  Maybe we should find out why, and figure out how to help each other. We could help each other understand. We could all use some help."

"Heh, help, yea we'll probably all need that before this is over..." Matt mutters, then looks around for something capable of busting open that box, or failing that goes over and kicks it for good measure.

T.J slowly gets up and looks at the crate. "Kirby's ray must be in this! Can anyone break this lock?" He takes a step back from it, wary of having another spasm.

"If we really can't, let's take the crate away. We'll open it later. There will be some kind of acids or whatnot in chemistry lab, won't they?"

Colin is glad that Timmy is feeling better, but he's still worried about him.

"T.J., are you sure you're ok? We can get the nurse, or take you there, if you want."

OOC: The tunneling ray might be able to be carried by four of you (it's heavy) but not it and the crate.

There is a crunching sound from the direction of the box (OOC: Everyone make a Notice DC 18) and the top of the box where the clasp and lock are gets crushed.

(OOC: Anyone that makes the Notice check spots what looks like a little dragon, tearing the lock off the box with it's clawed foot, then vanishing)

T.J waves off Colin. "Don't worry I'm fin..." He doubles over for a minute and looks like he's about to throw up then straightens. He looks at the box and sees the clasp is gone. “Wow, Donnie how did you do that? The lock must of really rusted." He moves over to the crate, opens it and glances inside.

TJ drops the side of the crate and everyone can see the tunnelling ray, sitting inside the box.

T.J grins widely, the earlier nausea gone, and leaps into the air. "Yes! We've got it! We found it! Yeah! Yeah!” He laughs and stands next to the ray. “I think we’ll need more then one of us to lift this. It looks quite heavy.”

Sarah cheers!  "Awesome!"  She looks at the device, which seems a lot bigger than the blueprint.   "Maybe next time Kirby can build something the size of a cellphone or something.  How are we going to move this thing back across?  Anyone bring a trojan horse disguise with them?  Maybe somebody should get Kirby over here.  It's his invention afterall."

"It took two people to bring it here. We're six. We can try at least. We just have to be careful not to touch this lever and that button." he says, pointing at the device.

"I'm sure we can carry it but wont somebody...possibly even whoever stole it in the first place.. or worse - the vice principal, notice six of us waddling back across the lot with this giant hunk of ... deathray?  We need a tarp for it at least.  Wait!  Dave!  He can bring his van around!"  Sarah is quite pleased by her obvious but still in her opinion brilliant solution.  Yes I am a genius!

It's not too difficult for Sarah to find Dave, and have him bring his van around.

Within a couple of minutes the tunneling ray is loaded into the van and then the bell rings.  Time to go to your next class.

Colin hears the bell and frowns.

"We should go... but is it safe to leave it here? Should we make a rush to the labs, and go with Kirby to the principal? I don't like that someone took it and locked it away like that. Maybe the principal can find a safer place for it."

DAVE: "I'll drive it around front, someone get the Principal and someone get Kirby."

Donnie, after hearing the crunching of the lock, looks up in time to see it hit the floor. He looked at Seth thoughtfully, then back at the warped steel door. Shrugging, he bends over and grabs ahold of one of the corners of the Death Ray machine.

T.J nods at Dave. "I'll get Kirby. Thanks Dave for letting us use your van." He looks towards the school and sprints to the storage closet where Kirby was last. It won't matter if we're a few minutes late, he thinks, this is more important.

Sarah hugs Dave.  She looks at him brightly.  "Thanks Dave.  Hey, maybe Kirby can fix up your batmobile for you sometime?  Give you rocket engines or a stealthmode.  That forcefield the talked about the other day would be pretty handy huh?  No more dents and dings!"

"So, shall we go call the principal, or you think we'd better wait for Kirby?"

It doesn't take long for TJ to find Kirby and then he gets the principal and goes out front with him.  When Dave brings his van around they show the tunneling ray to the principal.  Kirby explains to the principal what happened in the store room, and that he couldn't find the device today and that you guys helped him find it.

"You kids need to get to your next classes.  Mr. Keger, go wait for me in my office please."

The principal has a couple of the school security guys carry the device from Dave's van into his office.
