The last thread took place on September 17th.  This post covers things that happen over the next two weeks, so the next active day would be October 1st.  I'm still waiting to close a couple of threads, and they may have some impact on this post.  If they do, I'll edit accordingly.

This post will contain mainly public knowledge items, and I'll try to PM things specific to characters later today.  There will also be a news section and anything else I think is appropriate.

ACTIONS:
Colin gives Detective Chris O'Brian the research material that Matt put together regarding the auctioned off spell book and transformation spell information.  I'm assuming that the name Emille Vandross is also passed to him, since it's come up a few times.

Donnie begins researching the spells necessary to cause the transformation of Rory and those needed to bind a spirit as with Rob.  He also helps Sylvia with her learning to use her powers.

Megan takes to the streets as Velocity, as well as keeping up with all her other activities.  Her and Cal go on a date September 22nd.  It starts out as being a double date with Lance Harbor and his girlfriend, but Lance has to take her home early so Cal and Megan have a few hours alone.

Sammy tries to get some time in with her powers and all her other activities.  She gets invited to jam with Elrod and his band on the 22nd.  It's mainly the band and a few friends.  Elrod suggests inviting some of Sam's friends for next week, and the band grows.  Seth is also invited (Let us know if he attends).

Colin spends some time reading and trying to master his powers.  He also tries to spend as much time as possible with Sarah (I'm guessing there).

Sylvia continues to work on her powers, and the pep squad.  Although she's getting the routines down and does well at the games, her other responsibilities seem to be keeping her from bonding with the other members of the squad.  She also gets a supriswe visit at the end of the fortnight.

Cal continues to get to know Megan and plays football.  His class advisor suggests he look for some other extra curricular activities or clubs to help improve his college apps.  Being four years away gives him plenty of time to find other things to do and groups to interact with to make himself look more well rounded for college.

Kel continues to work with the pep squad.  He and Dallas also spend some time before and after practice sparing.  Dallas has some formal training in martial arts and he and Kel warm up before practice with some pretty fancy moves.  They're also getting pretty good at the pep squad routines.  Dallas only has to be shown a move once and he's on it, which has a few of the girls interested in him.

TJ continues to hang out with the Sci-Fi and Science Clubs and starts to look more closely at that website with the gadgets on it.  I assume he spends some time tinkering with them and perhaps putting a few together.  some of the designs have to be modernized, but they're still all functional.  He also notices that his dad has been working late a lot the last couple weeks.  TJ barley sees him with the way his schedule has been.  He was also entrusted with a dose of 'Superman' for analysis.

Matt has been continuing to look for clues to Rory's death.  His main source of information has been Shelia, who he's been spending a good bit of time with.  Rory's funeral was the 20th of September.  Matt's mom let him skip school to go, it was a very small memorial service with just the family and Matt.  Rory's mom and dad tell Matt how much it meant to them that Rory had a friend during his last weeks.  Matt spotted Colin in the distance, obviously not wanting to intrude on the ceremony.  Matt's personality softens some, mostly to Shelia.  His relationship with the 'Usual Suspects' improves

Seth.  Waiting on the conclusion of the Offer thread to see if he cuts the demo tape.  His parents enlist him in a number of parties, as entertainment.  Some of the guests include conductors and other musicians from around the world.  They drag him to a few parties they don';t host, including one hosted by the Mayor of Oak Park.  It's a fund rasier for a local homeless shelter.  Seth sees Megan there, and he learns (if he didn't already know) that she is the Mayor's daughter.

Sarah?  Assuming she spends some time with Colin.  Colin suggested using a ball shooter to let her test her staff, and he's able to get them an early morning court at his mom's tennis club on a Saturday to let her practice.  She also planned to try and have a talk with the voice in her head.  After a lot of meditation she finally managed to figure that out.

OAK PARK NEWS:

Friday September 21st (during school) a fight breaks out in one of the halls as five girls get into a fight over a guy.  The fight was pretty brutal and the boy has no clue what happened.  One second he was at his locker, the next one fo the girls was blowing in his ear and then the fight broke out.  All the girls involved had lockers near the boy.  All the girls claim they had no idea what came over them.

Friday September 21st (Evening)  is Oak Park vs. Hindsdale Central in an away game. (No Fate Roll from Mort yet, so I'll do this one).  Final score Oak Park 22, Hindsdale Central 15.  One of the Hindsdale players was also pretty badly injured by Charlie Tweeder, one of the Oak Park players.  Tweeder was pulled from the game for unnecessary roughness.  Cal can't shake the feeling that Hindsdale played a better game, but couldn't seem to score well.

Monday,  24 September, Rumors start to circulate that Megan Howell and Calvin Stewart are going steady.

Tuesday, 25 September, Two boys are caught with pictures from the girls shower.  It's obvious they were taken by someone standing in the open doorway to the shower.  The girls were not identified and the Principal has posted a faculty member in the doorway during shower times to prevent it from happening again.

Thursday, 27 September, a rash of petty thefts are reported to the police and school administrators.  A few witnesses reported that they felt a slight breeze just as they noticed the stolen items were missing.

Thursday, 28 September, Oak Park High begins to recruit for a Constitutional Debate Team.  Karen Pomeroy is the teacher who is putting the team together.  The first meeting is Monday October 1st.

Saturday, september 29.  Oak Park vs. Morton (H).  Final Score Oak Park 14, Morton 15.  Cal watched the game, Oak Park played like shit but they were crushing some of the Morton offensive line.  Charlie Tweeder is pulled from the game again for roughness along with Wendell Brown.  Cal is sure they are the two guys that were talking to the assistant coach that day a couple weeks ago in the locker room.

IN THE NEWS

A new face is getting seen in the area.  Velocity as she calls herself is a new super hero here in the Chicago area and she's taking the windy city by storm.  Already thought to be responsible for a recent drop in drug related violent crime in the surrounding suburbs this young super speedster has thus far avoided much publicity.  Last week she was reported to have rescued two children from a fatal auto crash, sweeping the children out of harms way.  This grainy photo was taken by one bystander with a camera phone and shows only a blur of color as the girl paused to set the children down before taking off again.

Public opinion is high, as Chicago has not had a regular costumed hero to call her own in quite some time.  The Chicago PCD had no comment when asked if Velocity was working with them on any of the recent string of paranormal crimes that have hit the city.

Wednesday, October 26th 2007, Oak Park Il.
Fenwick High School, a private catholic school in Oak Park Illinois, a suburb of Chicago, was rocked by violence today as what appeared to be a fist fight between several students turned into a paranormal battle.  Four young men were involved in the fight and authorities say they had been using the new designer drug dubbed Superman.  The fight caused several thousand dollars in damages to the school and injured fourteen other students.  This incident marks the seventh in the Chicago area since school went into session in late August that is directly related to Superman.  The drug was responsible for the death of an Oak Park student when he was attacked by another student who had taken the powerful drug.  Authorities say they are investigating and a major crackdown on drug dealers and suppliers ha begun all over the state.

Mega Man, the name given to a mysterious hero seen in the skies over Chicago, was sited again the other night.  The hero pulled two women from an overturned car and then apprehended the drunk driver responsible several blocks fromt he scene.  Chicago PDs PCD unit had no comment when asked if Mega Man was working with them on the recent rash of paranormal crimes.  This picture of Maga Man shows the hero posing for a picture after the rescue.  He did not stay to answer questions, flying from the scene as reporters approached.

Thursday, September 27th, 2007.  Chicago IL.
A bizarre armored car robbery in Chicago neeted theives 127 Thousand dollars.  The robbery is bizzare because the culprits were remote controlled cars.  According to police, a remote vehicle loaded with explosives slipped under the armored car at a traffic light, overturning it.  Another vehicle cut a hole in the armored car and a third filled it with an anasthetic gas.  Witnesses say that that the vehicles then snatched bags of cash and fled the scene.  No one was seriously uinjured in the robbery and police have no suspects.

Chicago polilce are still searching for a paranormal they've dubbed The Black Hat.  Apparently a viscious vigilante that has been tearing a path of destruction through the cities drug labs and dealers, as well as extracting stiff justice from some of the cities violent offenders.  The Black Hat was responsible for the death's of two convicted rapists early last month when they attempted to assault a young cocktail waitress.  Police alsdo suspect The Black Hat in the murder of a drug dealer who was a link to the Superman trade in the city.  The victim, at first thought to have been an accidental death during an escape attempt is now thought to have been a victim of the vigalante.

The fourth in a series of unexplained fires occurred last night in Oak Park.  An empty office building was burned to the ground by what investigators are saying is paranormal arson.  There were no signs of conventional accelerantes, but the fire spread in an unnatural manner, leading investigators to believe that it and the others were set by a paranormal.

RESULTS:

Sammy has managed to get the hang of her powers fairly well.  Now all I have to do is finish her character so she can see it :)

Colin has mastered the power nap, has discoverd that if he's not careful he answers his mother in a language he doesn't understand, can see auras in reflections, and shouldn't inhale cigarettes.  Do I have a copy of Colin that has powers?  I've asked this question before, haven't I?

Sylvia hasn't done so well with her powers.  She's got the basics, but it's still a mostly unexplored thing.  she has discovered that she can talk her mother's down from being mad at her though.  So, I'm safe at not having to do anymore work on her character sheet expect to add some ranks in Perform:Dance.

Matt feels his relationship with Shelia is pretty much the same as it was with Rory.  They're good friends and spend a decent amount of time together.  Regardless of what he may feel for her, he doesn't think that her feelings for him go beyond friendship.

I think the rest of what I have is for PMs, which should be coming in the next couple hours.  I will start new threads with Chapter 14, except for Cal and Megan's Relationship, which I'll start as an open thread to let it develop.  Mort's posting is about once a day or so, so I'll leave them some room to develop that.

Sylvia might ask Matt if he thinks this is another talisman-thingie effect.  She might ask Kel if he knows how to break into a locker so they can look for something talisman-thingie-like.

Matt has no idea about what it could be, but figures the guess to be a good one, which also could indicate if so that Rob's posession was also linked to that. He researches a bit more on the net around the mysterious necromantic tome, looking for notes about spells related to posession and emotion/mind control.

During this time Sarah will corner Matt and talk to him about the Mall.  This should probably be a conversation.  I don't think we should glaze over that talk.  "Hey Matt, guess what?"

Yes, though he feels awkward doin that. He happily agrees to everything Sarah propose, but he is more reluctant to make the first move. If they go to the movies, it likely wasn't Colin who asked.


Colin is very interested and supportive of Sarah's progresses.


Colin starts cutting and keeping every article he thinks could be related to their "cases", much like he saw Matt do.


The language part makes him think. Bobby didn't talk about it. Colin talks with Sarah and Donnie about it, trying to figure it out. He considers calling Bobby, but decides against it. He is probably busy, and Colin would really like to show him he can make it on his own. He asks the blackbird, even though he doesn't really expects him to answer. (Can we say the blackbird is a he?)
He makes some research about it, and while he's at it, he looks for something on the U'nonqua too.
