Sarah seeks out Matt to confront him about what happened at the mall the day of the armored car robbery there.

"Uh... uh? Wha- uh- uh?" As usual Matt is dubstruck, and the only reason he's not running already is because he views Sarah as more or less 'one of the guys'...

"Hey Matt, guess what?"  Sarah says with a grin.

"Uuuh... you're madly in love with me and want to elope? Thanks but..." he gives her a lopsided grin (think: Han Solo), thankful over his time with Sheila that has gotten him a bit more used to dealing with females and has helped him to realize that they're just people too, they just cry more often. And got strange parts but that one he's not touching with a ten-foot pole yet.

"Darn you guessed!"  Sarah snaps her fingers.  "And now you've broken my heart.  Now I can't tell you what I was really here to talk about."

She looks downhearted and starts to walk away.

A few steps off she turns around and smiles.  "Nah, this is too good and I've been dying to talk to you about it for ages!"  She walks back over to Matt.  "Do you remember what you told me the other day when I asked you about the armored car robbery at the mall?"

"Uuh, what about it?" He looks down, sticking his hands in his pockets. "Nothing to tell. Wish I'd been there, but that day's pretty much a blank spot for me. I'd just been wandering around in a daze after I'd gottten the news that-- you know. Practically the only thing I remember from the whole day is seeing Kel and Sylvia beat up that drug-dealer, but I'm pretty sure I would have remembered actual superhero action. So, I don't know what you're trying to say, but I wasnt there."

Sarah looks concerned, "You've got a blank spot?  Like, you can't remember what you were doing instead of going to the mall?  No recollection of speeding cars?"

"Well I do know where I was that night.  I was outside of the mall with bullets and thieves and armed guards with bad aim.  I saw the car tear off through the parkinglot.  I saw them almost run down a kid from our school, but I knew his name and I screamed it to warn him.  He looked  up and..."  Sarah has to pause, remembering the change.

"His eyes flashed and suddenly he was drenched in this red liquid... like thick latex or tar or something.  Then he's not a kid anymore. He's that superhero in Chicago we've all seen on TV.  You know, rescues babies, cats, stops crime and doesn't stick around to chat up the reporters?"

Sarah looks in Matt's eyes to see if any of this is making a connection before continuing.  "You know the rest.  He punched a speeding car.  Punched a car!  It flipped and then he gave me a wave and flew off.  It's the most amazing thing I've ever seen.  It was like being in a movie, or better a comic book."

"Whoa..." he looks at her with biig puppy eyes. "That is just so awesome... who was it?! I mean, we gotta invite him to the gang, if the new superhero dude is actually a kid - which kinda explains the dorky cape by the way - he's gotta be so confused, and, and... he KO'ed a car, a kid our age, from our school? That's just wild! Come on, who was it!"

"You."   Sarah steps back waiting for an explosion.

Matt looks at her unbelieving for a few moments. Then he bursts into insane laughter. "BWAHAHAHAHAHAHA! Damn, you almost had me there, hah..."

He realizes that she's not giving up the 'joke'. "Wh-wait... you serious? That's... that's absurd! I mean it would be pretty awesome if it was true, but you must have been mistaken, or he had to have used some sort of illusion or something, it's impossible. I mean I don't even remember being there, let alone turning into a superguy in a cape strong enough to KO a car then fly off. And this guy is supposed to have done lots of other stuff as well, right, and, well, I didnt do that either. At least I don't think I did..."

"It could have been an illusion but why would they pick to look like you out of the thousands of kids in the area?"  Sarah thinks about it for a minute.  "There's a pretty easy way to tell if I'm right.  Why don't we look up the times of the sightings of this caped guy and you try and tell me what you were doing then.  Or tell me if you have a blank spot.  Maybe you have an... alter ego or something?"

She pats Matt on the shoulder and grins, "Hey did you think with everyone at our table popping up with powers that you'd get left out?  I keep telling everyone it's something in the cafeteria food... oh except I bring my lunch from home.  Hmm.. okay so my theory needs a little work." 

She stops smiling and offers a more serious side, "Honestly I'm not trying to trick you or tease you.  It really happened.  Just like my powers showing up.  It is real." 

"I haven't told anyone else about this.  I'm not going to either.  Not until you get it straight in your head.  Not until you say its okay." 

She smiles one more time, "Hey, why don't you write down a message for me to give him if I see him again sometime?"

"Uhh... a message? Well... okay. Still sounds kinda silly though. And I was asleep most of the times that the caped dude's been spotted, I've been making a list of the sightings. It's funny though, because I keep waking up more exhausted than I was when I went to bed... just like Sheila said Rory used to just before he--" he glances around a bit, then takes a scrap of paper out of his bag, scribbles something down on it, then hands it over to her.


"Oh, and thanks for not telling, I'd sorta want to know first if I really am this guy before the entire school starts thinking that I'm him. That would be pretty embarrasing you know..."

"Thanks.  Well at least I'll have something to talk about with uh.. what are they calling him for now?  MegaMan?  Ultraguy?  Something..."  Sarah smiles, "Hey so no worries.  We find out when we find out.  Maybe even leave a message for yourself on your bedroom ceiling so he.. uh.. you see it when or if something happens."

She puts her hand out for a shake, "Welcome to the Superclub... provisionally.  You might want to pay me the twenty dollars monthly dues now just to get it out of the way.  Oh say, that reminds me.  Do you think I should be a caped crusader?  Or maybe just tinkerbell.  You know, for halloween?"

"I dunno, I used to like capes and stuff, the classic style that Supergirl started up when I was younger, but these days I dunno. Probably got smitten by the Matrix fad if you know what I mean... As for a costume suggestion I think Colin would appreciate a skimpy tinkerbell costume though, but..." he gets ready to duck the inevitable smack, as he's witnessed Dave and Greg recieving a few times since the start of the year.

He gets ready to run, then suddenly his face becomes stark white. "Oh crap, gimme that!" He snatches the note back, then corrects it. "Heh, just realized that if you're wrong - which you most likely are - telling a big superhero dude to 'stop using my body because I'm really starting to ache' may not be the most PC way to put it... Actually forget about it, just, y'know, talk to the dude. You got superpowers after all, so you're in the same club anyway, so just ask him if he's, err, me. Otherwise you could end up getting tossed into the Atlantic or something..."

"What if he doesn't know he's you any more than you know that your him..."  She pauses for a second.  "Did that make any sense?" Sarah shrugs, "Okay if I see him I'll try and chat with him.  He has a tendancy to fly off pretty quickly though."

"Because I've just tossed a life altering bit of info at you I'll let that other comment slide.  That and I don't know if I'd want to make you angry." 

"Well, in that case what good would a note do? He wouldnt have remembered being me writing it... to me. This is getting confusing. I dunno, I'll have to think about this, try to keep better track things it seems. Maybe install an automated camera or something in my room, incase I change during the night or something."

He shakes his head, still not sure he belives any of this but hoping she could be correct, or at least not crazy. "Oh, uh, and thanks by the way. For, y'know, both telling and being discreete about it. Oh, and for not taking my head off I guess." He winks at her. "I'll try to repeat the favor in case I'm wearing red tights the next time we meet and it's not halloween."

"You got it.  That camera's a good idea.  Even a simple webcam or handycam would do the trick.  If you don't have one I bet Greg would lend you one for a couple of nights."
