In the News

Is Velocity the head of a crime ring?  Recent reports of sightings in the Chicago area suggest that paranormals with costumes similar to the one worn by Velocity have been seen at various crime scnes, including three more attacks on low-level drug dealers.  Police are investigating weather or not the recent good samaratin actions of Velocity were a smoke screen or if she has merely bored with good deeds and has started to use her amazing powers for self gain.  Police indicate that the recent eyewitness accounts can not be confirmed as the actual Velocity or others with amazing speed powers.  A full investigation is underway.

More arsons have been reported in the Oak Park area.  Fire investigators are still convinced the fires are paranormal in origin.  To date seven structures have been damaged by fire with estimates putting the damage in the area of half a million dollars.  There are still no suspects.

A young girl reported missing from Kansas six months ago, where the occupants of her group home were found slain, is missing again.  The girl, who's name is being witheld, turned herself into Chicago police Monday claiming to have been chased by armed men and saved by Velocity.  The hero convinced the girl to turn herself into authorities.  Kansas State Troopers were transporting the girl back to Kansas as a witness in the homicide investigation when they car they were transporting her in was attacked and the girl abducted.  Both officers are in the hospital with severe injuries and Kansas and Illinios State Police are investigating the case along with the Chicago PD.

School News

Campus police and administration are continuing to investigate a string of bizarre thefts which appear to have a paranormal element to them.  Cash, iPods, and other small items have been stolen, sometimes right out of the victims hands.  There have been reports of a breeze right as the crime takes place, and so the administration is begining to think that a paranormal of some type is involved.

Administration announces during first period that random locker inspections will be conducted throughout the next week as part of a crackdown to stop the spread of Superman in the school.  Fenwick High School reported another fight yesterday related to the drug.  Students caught out of class without a hall pass will face immediate suspension and any student caught with drugs of anykind will be immediately expelled for the remainder of the year.

Megan’s anger was rising as she looked through the news regarding the crimes that were taking place that the police believe she might have been responsible for.  But just as that anger was building, she found the article about Katie.  I’m sorry Katie, I though you could be safe.  She thought, hating the feeling that she had convinced the girl to deliver herself to where those pursuing her could more easily locate her.

She made her way out to her brother’s car to go into school, feeling rather depressed and far from her normal self.  If her brother noticed, he sure did not seem to care as he turned up the radio in the car and ignored her on the drive in.  She wondered if she had what it took to be a hero, so far everything seemed to be falling apart, and what little good she had done was quickly being buried under the crimes of others or just general failures.  Even in her very first act as a “hero”, she had been unable to stop the guy that had been about to kill the police officer.

When they arrived at the school parking lot, Megan took a look around at the other students outside for a moment, knowing that once she stepped out, she had to be the normal Megan.  “Hey, you getting out of the car or what?”  She heard her brother call out impatiently.  With a small sigh, she stepped out and was the smiling cheerleader again as she made her way into school.
