Title: Chapter 24-5, Donnie's package. Post by: secretoracle on December 06, 2006, 01:49:26 PM When Donnie gets home he's greeted by his dad. Mom is out playing bridge or something, and so dad decided to rent some movies and spend a little time with Donnie. As Donnie heads to his room his dad calls out to him, "Oh, a package came for you. I put it on your bed." The box is pretty big, and the UPS label has no return address. The box is taller then Donnie is and is about a foot wide. It's got a decent weight to it. When he shakes it there is no clue as to what it might be. After some precautions Donnie determines the box is safe to open. Peeling away the layer of bubblewrap Donnie finds a sword. The longsword seems like an authentic antique, the scabbard and handle showing some signs of wear. Lifting the blad out Donnie can see some symbols etched into one side of the blade, but he doesn't recognize them. On the other side is an etching of a dragon which runs almost the entire length of the blade. the handle is toped with a dragon head, it's mouth open and the cross piece is a pair of slim dragon wings. The handle itself has a scale motiff, like the hide of a dragon. Although a full long sword with a blade nearly four feet long, the sword is suprisingly light in Donnie's hands and has a natural feel and heft. Title: Re: Chapter 24-5, Donnie's package. Excited and scared, he calls down to his dad, who was likely getting ready to order chinese from the usual place. "Dad! I need to finish a paper and some math. I'll be down in an hour. ok?" You doing anything tomorrow evening? I just, uh, received a magic sword in a UPS package, and it's really freaking me out. Can you come over and check it out? Nope. I have no idea who sent it to me, but is definately a magic blade.." Donnie has Pip look at it to get his impression, then wraps it back up and puts it in his closet. He goes down stairs to eat dinner with his dad and watch some movies, but heis thoughts are on the artifact in his closet upstairs. |
