as the team is getting ready to go out on the field, Megan finds John.

Megan was ready for the game, dressed in the navy and burnt orange cheerleading outfit, her blond hair tied up in a high ponytail with ribbons that were also of the school’s colors.  On her right cheek, Megan had gotten Kansas to paint the letters “O” and “P” in the school’s colors, the upper left corner of the “P” intersecting the “O”.  On her left cheek, the Megan had a small # sign and a larger number “11” (John’s jersey number) in the school’s colors.

She had sent out the rest of the squad to get ready for the team to come out, and found John near where the rest of the team was gathering.

John couldn't help but smile when he saw her.  "You look very cheery."  he said, in an obvious pun.

Megan laughed at his little pun as he came over.  “Well, I would not belong in this uniform if I wasn’t.”  She said with a wide smile.  “Even though I know you might not need it, I wanted to wish you luck before you went out.”  She stepped up and on her tiptoes to kiss him on the cheek.  Pulling her head back slightly, still on her tiptoes, her face stopped in front of his as she asked.  “Feeling any luckier?”

"Certainly feeling something."  he says with a smile, "Lucky is a good word for it."

"ELLIOTT."  The coach yells, "You here to play football or what?"

John chuckles, "I gotta go.  Thanks Megan, for everything."

Megan grinned as the coach yelled for John.  “Yeah, I have to get out there to greet you all as you come out to the cheering fans.”  Feeling a bit disappointed, just before he stepped away, she quickly leaned in and gently kissed his lips.  It was only for a brief moment and then she was back on her heels, taking a few steps back.  “And your welcome.  I’ll be watching.”  She said as she smiled while starting to turn away.  She then headed out to where the rest of the squad was waiting so they could cheer as the team ran out onto the field between them.
