After PE Donnie is in the locker room chaning when one of the older boiys comes over and sits on the bench next to where he's changing.  "Hey, some of us were wondering if you wanted to join our group.  We're looking for one more."

Donnie finishes pulling on his jeans, lookin gover his shoulder before turning back to the guy in front of him. "Group? What group you talking about?"

The kid touches a spot above his eye where a pair of bandages sit, then points to Donnie.  Donnie realizes he has a similar pair of bandaids from a gash he got sparring with Jack.

"We get together once a week, we got a spot under the old roller rink.  There are about ten of us or so, and sometimes the guys from Fenwick come over and we square off against them.  Interested?"

A slow smile spreads across Donnie's face. "If I show up, am I required to join in, or can I observe the first time?"

"Normally, your first time you have to fight.  I've seen you around the last couple weeks though, you're no stranger to it."  The boy smiles, "It's a rush, ain't it?"

Donnie thinks about it for a minute. Then nods his head. "Yeah. I'll be there."  He reaches out  and taps fists with the other kid. "I'm Donnie. That bruise last month was thanks to a baseball bat to the face. &#$*ing jerk hopped on Superman."

"I'm Craig."  He writes down an address on a slip of paper and gives it to Donnie.  He gets Donnie's cell number explaining that everyone gets a text message on nights they get together. The message is Bring It.  "I'll see you there."  He gets up and heads towards his next class.

Donnie looks down at the address, feeling a flutter of fear in his veins. I've got to learn to defend myself without the sword and without the Dragons. They can't protect me all the time.

He stuffs the not in his pocket. I should tell Kel, but he'd kill them all. No, this is mine. First rule of Fight Club: You never talk about Fight Club..

He heads off to his next class.
