That was the final touch to her preparations for Homecoming. Looking at herself fin her full length mirror, she turned slightly to each side, nodding approvingly at how good she looked in her dress. The dress was by Jovani, titled “Falling Star”. The bottom of the dress was a dark, dark blue, like a clear night sky, and, just above her knees, it started to be speckled with sequin “stars”. Just below the waist, the dress material lightened just a bit in shade, and the stars turned into lines of sequins, that seemed to rain down towards the ground. The sequined falling stars were thicker on her midsection, until the bright “stars” almost completely crowded out the blue at the bikini line. Two thin straps, also covered in sequins, went over her shoulders, and the dress dipped down to her mid back. Her arms were completely bare. Keeping with the “star” theme, she had a 18k white gold bracelet on her right wrist by Christian Dior, from the “Dior Raining Stars” collection. It consisted of over a dozen small white gold stars linked together by white gold chainlinks. Off of this were four pick tinted charms, each of the letters spelling out “DIOR”. Her earrings were also from the “Dior Raining Stars” collection, white gold hoops with a small link of stars passing through the middle. Each of the earrings also had the small “DIOR” charm letters handing from the bottoms of the hoops. Around her neck was a necklace, also by Christian Dior, from the “Maxioui” collection, an 18k white gold chain with a single diamond in the center that hung down to just above her cleavage. A pair of black, heeled sandals by Christian Dior completed her outfit. She had gotten a Japanese straightening at the salon and then had her hair fixed up in a stacked ponytail. For something that seemed so simple, it was amazing how much one could spend, of course, the Japanese straightening had been a large part of the bill. The blonde teen had added some sparkles to her hair, to go with her “star” theme. Yes, she thought, she looked fabulous. Hopefully this would get some other adjective from John other than just that she looked “great.” As understanding as she was about so many things with him, always being told she looked “great” was getting old. Smiling, she started towards the top of the stairs to wait for John to arrive. They were going to be going to Homecoming with the other cheerleaders and their dates in a H2 Hummer limousine that the girls had all arranged. The blonde teen could not help but feel excitement bubbling up inside, she had been looking forward to tonight for weeks now. The victory earlier in the day at the football game just seemed to add even more energy to the anticipated evening. When he saw MEgan there was a long pause where he said nothing, his mouth just opening slowly, like it might not work suddenly. Finally a sound came out, a sort of "ahhh" that lasted several seconds, then he snapped his mouth closed and smiled, "You look amazing." He looked down at the floor for a second and Megan was sure he blushed. "I brought you this." he said, taking a single white rose, it's stem trimmed short and wrapped in white ribbon. It had a pin in it and he carefully pinned it to her dress. "I have to admit, I'm more nervous pinning this on than I thought I'd be." He said as he secured the pin. "At least I didn't stab you." When he looked up finally she added, “you look very handsome and sophisticated.” She smiled again at the sight of the rose he had brought, holding still as best she could while he pinned it on her. When he commented how nervous he felt pinning it on, she whispered so only he could hear, “that’s probably a good thing, otherwise my dad might really get worried.” Then in a louder voice she replied. “You did just fine.” “Guess our mom’s helped coordinate some things.” Megan commented as she took out a boutonniere that matched the rose John had give her. She fixed it onto the lapel of his tuxedo jacket, finding her hands were shaking a bit more than she would have expected as well. Mom's face brightened and dad smiled. "You guys look nice." Dad said. He took his camera from the desk and took some pictures of them. Mom came over and made some fussing adjustments here and there. Megan thought she might cry, but her mom managed to hold it together. "You look very nice John." She said softly. "You guys have a great time." "Thank you Mrs. Howell. " John said. Megan's dad came up after putting his camera away. "Be careful you two. Things have been a little strange this year, and the Homecoming dance is the type of event that some people would use for hijinks. First sign of trouble, you guys find someplace safe. Okay?" John nodded, and put his arm around Megan's shoulder. "We'll be careful sir." She was a little surprised by her mom seeming about to cry, but figured it was probably a bit hard when the youngest really started to show that she was grown up. “We will mom.” She said with a smile and a hug for her mom. Once they got out there, she gave John a slight nod. “Yeah, but you know, he is a smart guy, he might suspect things. There was a lot of excitement in the car over the game and the dance. She then focused on trying to put that to the back of her mind somewhat, something made all the easier once they were inside the luxurious H2 limousine and on the way to get the other cheerleaders and their dates. Once more people were added, the excitement over the victory and for the dance was rather contagious, building on itself. They pick John up and carry him into the gym on thier shoulders like a conquering hero. There are many cheers and applause for his first win as the teams quarterback. After the mini celebration John comes back over to Megan. He's smiling and he gives her a hug and a kiss. "We should dance some." She had a feeling this was a moment John would not easily forget, and was happy that he was able to have this “normal” moment. When he made his way back over to her, she returned his hug and kiss as she smiled broadly. “That sounds like a great idea.” As she let him lead her out to the dance floor. Conversation was focused mainly on who was here with who and what they were wearing. A few had commented on seeing Lisa, but none of them seemed to recognize the guy she was with. He's seated at a table that has a few other people at it. He seems to be alone, most of the others talking and not paying him much attention as he sits and sips a drink. When she gets a good look at him Megan realizes he's in her English class. He's bright and is often called on by the teacher when no one else has the answer to a question about the reading. The parents of one of the football team was hosting. The booster club was making a big show because of the win, and there were plenty of people there happy to continue the fun of the evening. Some people had changed into more casual cloths, most of the boys had lost their ties and a few had untucked their shirts. A DJ had been arranged and music filled the backyard of the large house. The hostess mom was making the rounds offering to call the parents of anyone that needed to check on where the kids were going to be. There was some dancing, and with this many paretns moving through the crowd it seemed even more chaparoned then the dance did. "I think I'm gonna quite the team after the season, not play next year." John says once Megan and he were settled. "My powers are getting harder to hide, and the football field is not really the place to mess up."
