Title: Cha;pter 38-6, Resurrection Cemetery. Post by: secretoracle on August 29, 2007, 05:04:24 PM Colin had been looking around at various burial sites. His journey's eventually brought him to Resurrection Cemetery in Chicago. The cemetery was open during the day, it's tall iron fence and gate gave the place a sinister look. The layer of snow concealed the grass, with only the headstones sticking up from the ground. Conlin found a bench to sit on and opened his thermos for a cup of hot chocolate. He'd learned that from time to time spirits would wander through, sometimes sitting and talking with him. Sometimes they seemed as real as any other person. Today a gentleman in a suit sat down next to him. The first thing Colin learned to look for was the steam of hot breath. This gentleman didn't have that. "Lovely spot you've picked out lad." he says brightly. "That's my Elenor's spot," he points off to the right, "Right over there. You have someone here?" To feel useful maybe. To help someone. Or just to learn something." He takes a sip from his cup. "Tell me of your Eleanor, please." Title: Re: Cha;pter 38-6, Resurrection Cemetery. He goes on about many things that he was fond of, then stops himself. "Where ever are my manners. Kenneth Huey, pleased to make your aquaintance." Title: Re: Cha;pter 38-6, Resurrection Cemetery. Post by: Doc on August 29, 2007, 08:20:49 PM "Colin Crow. The pleasure is mine, sir." Colin has to consciously stop himself from offering him his hand. He thinks it's polite to chat a bit, though, so he tells him a bit of the things he's fond of instead, stressing those they have in common. Then he drops his question. "Could I do anything for you, Mr. Huey?" Title: Re: Cha;pter 38-6, Resurrection Cemetery. Post by: secretoracle on August 30, 2007, 07:08:45 AM "Do anything?" Huey sits back for a moment. "Can't think of anything I need lad, but it was kind of you to offer." he shifts so he can look more directly at Colin. "Is there anyone you'd like me to give a message to?" Could you please tell him that I was named Homecoming King, and that I'm utterly in love with my Queen, so he could have a laugh at how goofy I am?" He chuckles to himself a bit. "It looks like things are looking up. After the most chaotic autumn ever, this could be a nice winter. I keep trying to make him proud of me." he smiles, bashfully. "Do you have any children?" I'll certainly pass along your message." Huey gets up, straightens his waist coat and then walks off, tipping his hat to his wife's head stone and then a few steps beyond shifting out of sight. |
