Torrance made sure that she coordinated an outing for the girls in the squad for Saturday night.  Boyfriends were totally off limits, this was to be a girls only thing.

The plan was to get together for an early dinner, then hit the Navy Pier for a while.

Things were going pretty well, and everyone seemed to be having a really good time.  After they went to the Navy Pier, Torrance took everyone to her place.  The house was in a nice neighborhood of town, and there were still boxes everywhere being unpacked.

The girls went into the den, where the entertainment center was.

"My folks are out, so help yourself to anything.  There's plenty of beer, so everyone can have some."  Torrance says as she gets stuff out of the fridge behind the bar.  "Who wants a Margarita?"  There are plenty of eager voices and Torrance begins mixing up a batch.

It's not long before the stereo is on, and some of the girls have settled down with beers.

"You want something Megan?"  Torrance asks

“I’ll try a Margarita.”  Megan replied, figuring she could sip the drink slowly.  “Thanks.”

Once everyone had drinks and had checked out the house, they started talking.  Torrance wanted to know about everything that had been going on at school, who was popular, who was hot.  The other girls seemed happy to bring her up to speed on the happenings at Oak Park High.

Eventually the conversation came around to boyfriends, or prospective boyfriends.

There is some talk of sex, who's had it and if it was any fun.  Torrance shares that she's been serious with a few guys, and Diane shares that she had sex while she was in her cast.

Eventually someone asks who Torrance is interested in at school.  She sort of smiles, "Well, I'm sort of checking out a couple of guys.  I don't always go for the straight laced good boys, if you know what I mean.  They can be alright, but sometimes not very exciting.  I'm sort of interested in Elrod Janush."

This gets a few giggles, "Elrod, why?"  Cleo asks.

"Why not.  Good looking, rich, certainly doesn't care about conforming.  Don't let his slacker exterior fool you, he'll bend over backwards to treat a girl right."

Megan was starting to feel the alcohol, so she started slowing down her sips, hoping she was not misjudging the passage of time.  When they started talking about sex, she will simply admit she had not done that yet, but otherwise just listen to the older girls talk about their experiences.

But when the conversation turns to who Torrance was interested in, Megan almost chocked on her drink when she mentioned Elrod.  For some reason, after Torrance explains her reasons for being interested in him, the blonde teen says, “he really does seems to do a lot for his girlfriend.”

"Oh, that's right.  The little Freshman girl from band.  Sam-something."  Diane says.  "That was a big buzz when people found out he was dating her."

Torrance looked at Megan, then Diane.  "He's seeing a Freshman?  That's weird.  Well, he can trade up."  she says with a smile, taking another drink of her Margarita.

“Well, like you said, El is not about conforming.”  Megan replied, not thinking Torrance had much chance given some of the things she had heard him say about cheerleaders.

Before anyone knew it the night was gone and Torrance was taking the girls home.  Megan was the last one to be dropped off, "I had a really good time tonight.  I'm glad you came, really."  She gave Megan a hug before she got out.

“Thanks, I had a great time as well.”  Megan said, returning Torrance’s hug.

"I'll see you Monday.  Big plans, gotta get a move on."  Torrance heads home.  It's fairly late when Megan finally gets in the house, nearly 2AM.

“Okay, have a good rest of the weekend.”  Megan said as she exited Torrance’s car.  She crunched the last of the latest breathmint and swallowed the remaining pieces. She had stopped drinking awhile ago, and had eaten half a roll of mints on the ride home.  Slowly opening the door, she went inside, looking forward to the chance to lie down and get to sleep.  It had been a fun time, but she was really tired and she needed to call John later in the day.
