Police say they have a suspect and are continuing to build a case in the brutal beating that left eighteen year old Elrod Janush in the hospital.  They refused to give the name of the suspect but indicated that their investigation has uncovered that he was a member of the Fight Club that was being run out of Fenwick High, the same Fight Club that resulted in the death of another youth.  Investigators indicated the suspect in the Janush attack was not involved in the fight that killed the other boy last month.

Oak Parks new mayor, former Deputy Mayor Richard Wilkins has announced that there will be a comprehensive investigation by the school board into the activities at Oak Park High School.  Mayor Wilkins said in a statement that "The safety of our children is paramount to the health and well being of our community.  For too long a blind eye has been turned to the dramatic rise in paranormal activity at Oak Park High."  The school board will begin it's investigation early next week.

The body of an Oak Park teen reported missing over the summer was located under the tennis courts at Oak Park High School.  Authorities working on a tip from an informant obtained a court order and dug up the North side of the tennis courts where they located the body of Tom Renquist.  The Oak Park youth had been reported missing over the summer when he failed to return home one night.  The preliminary report indicates the boy was killed by a blow to the head and buried in the then open ground where the tennis courts were being resurfaced.  An investigation is underway and the police currently have no suspects.

Police say they have a suspect in custody for the attacks and robberies associated with the criminal vigilante Spark.  Police are refusing to reveal the identity of the suspect at this time.

In more local news, rumors that Oak Park High would be canceling it's annual Winter Concert were denied by Principal Karl Landis.  "All the people who have worked hard to put this concert together deserve a chance to see it come to pass.  There have been problems here, but we don't want that to dominate their thinking.  We want them to see something positive that they made happen."  The Winter Concert is Saturday December 22nd at 7PM and tickets are on sale at the Student Store or the main administration office.  The event is open to family and friends of Oak Park student body members and a limited number of tickets are available to the general public.

School News
There are bulletins in all the Homerooms which highlight the NO FIGHTING policy for the school as well as the standards of conduct.  Principal Landis makes a morning announcement to remind all students to read the policy and abide by it.

School Talk
There is a buzz that Donnie Douglas is the guy the cops have fingered for kicking Elrod's ass. 

There is an equal buzz that Samantha is who turned him in. 

Lots of people are talking about the body they found under the tennis courts. 

There is some doubt that the Janush party will happen with Elrod in the hospital.
