Title: Character Creation - Redux Post by: secretoracle on June 28, 2008, 01:24:19 AM You guys can use this to iron out character details for chefjeff's character. also. anyone who thinks they are not working as they thought they would/should power-wise. Let me know and we can make some adjustments to your characters at this time. For all intents and purposes, we will remain at the current PL, but you may shift things or make any adjustments for playability that you think you need. Title: Re: Character Creation - Redux Post by: chefjeff on June 29, 2008, 10:57:29 AM Cool - thanks Darren. Title: Re: Character Creation - Redux Post by: chefjeff on June 30, 2008, 06:12:07 PM Meet Jakob Wyshyhski. Jakob is 17, the son of Polish immigrants who established a thriving family farm in rural Illinois. He grew up with a reverence for the land and hard work is in his blood. Things took a bizarre turn for young Jakob when at the tender age of eight he suddenly found himself sitting alone in his father's cornfield staring down at his suddenly metallic legs. When he noticed that he had arms to match he officially freaked out... so imagine what happened when he realized that his entire body was now composed of metal. His father, bless his heart, took it in stride - after all, young Jakob was not the first member of the Wyshynski clan to manifest strange abilities & characteristics. To make a long story short, Jakob's father helped him figure out his ability, how to activate (and more importantly how to de-activate it) the transformation, and helped him to develop exercises to build flexibility & fluidity of motion in his metallic state. He also taught him how to box - and his own experiences with other local kids - some of which were disposed to making Polish jokes - taught him even more about the pugilistic arts. His mother did what she could to make his life as normal as it could be - and she was indeed a wonderful mother. Jakob's world was turned entirely inside out when his parents were killed in a plane crash while visiting their native Poland. He was taken in by his nearest relatives - his Uncle & Aunt Mark & Doreen Wyshynski - who lived near the city of Chicago. Uncle Mark knows all about Jakob's ability and Aunt Doreen knows of its existence but not much more. Now - Doc has volunteered to help me with a character sheet but mentioned that he's tied up with schoolwork this week and won't likely have time to actually crunch the numbers until next Monday or so... but I wanted to introduce Jakob to you all... Title: Re: Character Creation - Redux Post by: opensesame on July 02, 2008, 09:50:11 PM I am going to make a small adjustment to Sarah but not until I have returned home to a constant supply of internets. Title: Re: Character Creation - Redux Post by: chefjeff on July 03, 2008, 12:28:18 PM I forgot to include any sort of physical description... Jakob stands 6 foot 4 and weighs in at around 240. He has the build of someone used to long hours of physical labor including lifting heavy things... He has a shock of unruly black hair and a few chin whiskers he doesn't bother to shave off - he couldn't grow a full beard if he tried for a month of Sundays. Colin hates you already. ;) Title: Re: Character Creation - Redux Post by: chefjeff on July 05, 2008, 01:56:52 PM Jakob stands 6 foot 4 and weighs in at around 240. Title: Re: Character Creation - Redux Post by: Doc on July 17, 2008, 02:37:59 AM JACOB WYSHYNSKY PL: 4 (5) (60 pp) Normal form: ABILITIES: STR: 16 (+3) DEX: 12 (+1) CON: 16 (+3) INT: 10 (0) WIS: 12 (+1) CHA: 10 (0) SKILLS: Climb 4 (+7), Craft: Mechanical 6 (+6), Handle Animal 4 (+4), Intimidate 8 (+8), Medicine 2 (+3), Notice 8 (+9), Ride 2 (+3), Survival 4 (+5), Swim 2 (+5) FEATS: Endurance, Improvised Tools, Interpose, Dodge Focus (3), Attack Focus (Melee) (2), Attack Specialization (Unarmed) COMBAT: Attack (Unarmed) +5 [DC 18] Defense 14 (11 flat-footed) Init 1 SAVES: Toughness 3 (3 flat-footed) Fortitude 5 Reflex 3 Will 3 Metal Form: ABILITIES: STR: 20 (+5) DEX: 12 (+1) CON: 16 (+3) INT: 10 (0) WIS: 12 (+1) CHA: 10 (0) SKILLS: Climb 4 (+9), Craft: Mechanical 6 (+6), Handle Animal 4 (+4), Intimidate 8 (+8), Medicine 2 (+3), Notice 8 (+9), Ride 2 (+3), Survival 4 (+5), Swim 2 (+7) FEATS: Endurance, Improvised Tools, Interpose, Dodge Focus (3), Attack Focus (Melee) (2), Attack Specialization (Unarmed) POWERS: Alternate Form (Metal) [3] Protection [2] Impervious [5] Enhanced Strength [4] Super-Strength [2] COMBAT: Attack (Unarmed) +5 [DC 20] Defense 14 (11 flat-footed) Init 1 SAVES: Toughness (Impervious) 5 (5 flat-footed) Fortitude 5 Reflex 3 Will 3 Abilities 16 + Skills 10 (40 ranks) + Feats 9 + Powers 15 + Combat 4 + Saves 6 = 60/60 This is my first draft. This version of Jacob in metal form is bulletproof and can lift up to a car (barely). I tried to give him skills and feats based on his rural background, and a little intimidate, since I figure one of his size and training is more than a little imposing. I also gave him the improvised tool feat since one who can turn into metal has little need for that wrench he can't seem to find. :) To change from flesh to metal (or vice versa) is a free action, and can be done once per turn, which means that you'll probably always be metal when it counts, I just gave you two separate entries for clarity's sake. Title: Re: Character Creation - Redux Post by: chefjeff on July 17, 2008, 09:19:54 PM Looks good, Doc. I assume that as the game goes on and experience is gained that we can make him get stronger... but I'm good to go with it as written to start. Thanks for doing this for me! |
