Sammy makes her way down the Elrod's car.  He opens the door for her and points to the bag.  "No guarantee they're anything like really super clean."  he says.  "Should I not ask out of respect for your privacy?  Does that make me seem like a lees than attentive boyfriend if I say nothing?"  he rambles while she deals with the cloths.

Sammy grins and says through chattering teeth, "Just get in and shut the door.  It's cold!"

Before she's changing, while she waits for a little bit of heat to build up in the car, she gives him the Reader's Digest version of what happened:  Sylvia was emitting afterglow in the cafeteria, new super caught some of it and reacted (along with a bunch of other people), then went a lot nuts when Sylvia was informed what was happening around her.  Sammy realized just in time that Alicia was going to attack Sylvia, and intervened.  So did John.  They took her up on the roof.  In the process of intercepting and holding onto Alicia, Sammy got cut up a little -- girl has claws!  John patched up Sammy while Sammy talked Alicia down out of the crazy tree.

Acceptable heat levels attained, she pulls off Alicia's coat, then her own torn and bloodied shirt, and reaches for the replacement.  She isn't too concerned about how clean it is or is not.  "You can see its not too bad.  They sting a lot, mostly.  I didn't want to go back into the cafeteria with cut up clothes, or with blood on me.  It might get far more attention than it really deserves."

"Ok.  I always wondered why I avoided you guys at lunch."  he grins, "Now I know."  He slowly reaches out and touches the band-aids.  "This is better than 'megalomaniac tries to kill me with a piano' or something equally crazy.  I'm still gonna worry if that's ok with you?"

"It's okay if you worry," she says.  "Not like it would work if I tried to order you to stop."

"I'd just lie and say I wasn't."  he smiles and leans into her with his shoulder.  "So.  From a perfectly joke like standpoint, this might be a first.  Two teens get in the back seat of a car and one gets dressed."

She crinkles her nose at him.  "Then the girl says to the boy, 'Why did you want me to wear this shirt?  Its too big for me.  Why, its big enough for two!' she says."

Elrod laughs.  "I need a good excuse for a party before Valentine's Day.  See if any of the Suspects have a birthday would ya?"

OOC: did we ever establish birthdays?

"Sure thing.  Will do.  Or you could just ask Greg, he'd know before you finished asking.  But you didn't finish the joke.  I guess its up to me, huh?"

She rests her head on his shoulder and grabs one of his hands between her two hands.  ""Its big enough for two," she says.  So he says, "I don't believe you, let me see!"  So he crawls up into the shirt with her.  He starts to get a little excited, but being as he's a nice guy and she's a good girl, he starts to get back out of the shirt.  And -- here's the punch line -- she says "Keep your shirt on, don't be in such a hurry.  We've got all afternoon."

"Until the lunch bell rings."  He kisses her on the head and holds onto her.

Sammy snuggles in and pulls his arm tighter around her.

OOD: And at some point the bell will ring sending the little heroes back to their classes.
