In The News

Two students at Oak Park High School accidentally activated a WWII relic that the father of one boy had dredged up from the lake.  The robot's were a terror tactic employed during the war.  Hitler's Air Force dropped a number of the robots in major cities.  this one had obviously missed the city and landed in the lake where it lay dormant for decades.  The father of one of the boys is a commercial salvage diver and found the odd object, which is unrecognizable as a robot until it unfolds itself after landing.  Several students were injured and many might have been killed if not for the heroic actions of several anonymous heroes at the school.  a complete investigation is underway to determine if criminal charges should be pressed against the boys or their father.

OOC: That event was a singular event and not part of any plot.  Investigations and questioning will essentially pan this story out to be what happened.  It was an accident.  So mention it in future RP as such if you like and we can assume that you looked into the matter.

School News

School was not canceled the next day, but it was the end of the week (I think) so it was quiet. 

School Talk

That new kid from Welshland or wherever is dating that Mexican chick I think.  Man he moves fast.

I heard there is gonna be a keg party this weekend, abandoned house.  I'll text you the address.  (Getting the address will not be a chore for anyone).

Did you hear that Donnie kid, the one dating the hot girl on the paper got a mohawk?  What's up with that?-----Which hot girl on the newspaper, is he dating more than one of them?-----Newspaper geeks, go figure.

Events

They discharge Sammy the night of the event, but mom and dad keep her home the next day to let her heal up some.  Her older sister calls (the one off at college we never hear about) to check on her.

Sylvia and Donnie are discharged the next day and also spend that day at home. 

Donnie's mom orders Chinese and they sit in front of the TV watching some movies that Donnie likes.  She keeps rubbing the bald parts of his head and giggling.  Something about that hair style being popular when she was his age.

Sylvia is treated like she's royalty come to visit.  Mitzi mothers her, and Carolyn tries not to look like she's worried.

John texts Sammy about flying Saturday (we can assume it happens off screen unless she wants to yell at him about hiding his injury-I'm sure she's found out from someone.....Alicia!)

Elrod texts Sammy to confirm her folks are gonna let them do the jam session in the garage, and to rattle off the names of dance companies and plays in town until she tells him which ones to get tickets for.

I assume Rhys is given the address and time to be at Sammy's.

I assume there will be a chat with the girl who might have been the target of the weapon that John caught.

Alicia will call Sammy on her cellphone (She has a cellphone! How cool is that? Can't let Mom see!). She'll make sure Sammy's all right and ask leading questions regarding John's powers, which will likely lead to Alicia spilling the beans about John's injury. This could be its own thread if desired.

Did Rhys join the phone tree? If not, Alicia will corner him the next day. Either way, she asks, "Heard there's a keg party going down this weekend. You going?" Again, this could be its own thread.

Yeah, definitely check out Gena Ballestra. What info can we glean right off the bat? What year is she? Is her family rich or well-known? What's her rep (e.g., wallflower, geek, cheerleader)? Alicia Vega, P.I.? May God have mercy on us all!  :scared:

Oh, and if anyone calls her Mexican, Alicia will spit back, "I'm not a f**king wetback, s**thead, I'm a g*ddamn Spic! Get your damn ethnic groups straight!"

Sylvia will be taking a series of late-night walks.  No doubt she checks up on Donnie, but after watching him snore for an hour or so, she gets it in her head to see how long she can hang out at Colin's house before he notices.

I think Sammy probably will want to yell at John.  She'll also invite him to a very informal dinner at her house prior to the band session.  Alicia is invited too.  See below.


Yes he is!  Off screen, dinner slightly above pizza-grade (lots and lots of chili, rice, bread, and pasta!) is provided for anybody who gets there early, or stays late from flying.  This doesn't have to be a closed session either, so people can come by (or not) as they wish.  Alicia is specifically invited.   She's dating Rhys, right?  That's what the gossip says.

I think I'm confused about the order of events.  How's it all put together?

Was the dinner before the jam session the party to which everyone was invited?  Was it the kegger instead?  I didn't mean to have Sylvia drop in uninvited.

The events are not chronological in chapter order.

As I understand it everyone was invited to Sammy's for food.

The keg party is later that same night.

The Jam session is after dinner I think.

the Giant Robot Attack is after the keg party.

Ok, now I'm even more confused than before. Can you attach dates and times, please?

Also, is this dinner only for Sammy's Harem, or for the other usual suspects as well? That's not clear.
